Indian B-schools get a facelift
by labrea on Sep 10, 2006 10:44 PM  Permalink

It's good to know some thing's are actually being done to move these schools into the 21st century, though a lick of paint alone isn't enough to qualify as "facelift". But frankly, only when their facilities can match those of the Harvards or Yales should you start boasting. I'm sure many of the faculty have seen first hand, the facilities that students at such schools take for granted.

What about ''other'' B Schools!!!!
by Subhasish Sahoo on Sep 10, 2006 01:17 PM  Permalink

its good to know that IIMs and IMT/MDI are trying to do all these for students. but what about other B schools like ICFAI, ITM, LIBA etc who do not provide minimum basic facility to students. Most of them even do not have hostels and where ever they are, with minimum facility. Will Rediff look in to this "so called top 25/50 B schools" and do some research on them,to find out where the money going?

SJMSOM, IIT Bombay
by Ramesh on Sep 09, 2006 11:35 PM  Permalink

All Top B Schools boast of such facilities nowadays.

Similar facilities, a top class hostel, ATMs, washing machines, sports complex etc are present at the IIT Bombay B school, SJMSOM, as well.

Its just that the students hardly get time to make use of most of the recreational facilities. Thanks to the gruelling schedule!

The facilities being provided are good in deed, But indian management institutes need to upgrade the way of working, and create more of original case studies and articles. I would be glad the day they have famous management magazine and other research publications.
