Anti-Growth strategies of politician-unions-rural complex
by kiran chauhan on Oct 26, 2006 01:42 AM  Permalink

There is a power-politics triangle between politicians, unions and rural farmers and gov't workers. This complex is against changing labor laws, changing farm policy or selling gov't companies. Politicians and Unions depend on govt companies hiring a lot of people for their power. People need whatever no-growth job they can get to survive. Offer optimism instead of fear.
Don't sell companies like Russia, giving people shares but no jobs. Don't offer 1 year unemployment like USA. Offer to pay any company that hires an unemployed gov't worker: 25% of the salary of worker the first year, 25% the second, 50% the third year. To get the most benefit the company will keep the person for 3 years. Anyone will hire a skilled worker after that. Offer a lump sum payment to certain workers to retire or start a business in their village. Change Unions rules so they become employment agencies. Unions hire workers and contract them to companies. Unions make commission on workers earnings, so they will open schools and train workers. Unions can contract with many companies and move people if one company is firing and the other hiring. Companies can use multiple Union agencies.

Growth

There would be no growth, if the people like Abu Salem contest election.
What a horrible scenario. A tax payers money would be used to protect a
history sheeter mafia don, famous for ruthless killing of people. A High
Morale is very important for anything to work. WHat growth percentage
we see, is the result of un-interested work, borne out of need of
survival. Untill the morale level is boosted to a higher level, there would
not be a real growth.
