The amazon story of Chandra

Mr K B Chandrashekar:

Your story is very inspirational expecially for all budding entrepreneurs.

I really liked the way you said:

/** I was not doing it as charity because I don\\\'t believe in charity for charity\\\'s sake. **/

You are absolutely right that not all problems can be solved through charity ! your work for rural india and your alma mater is highly commendable. Hope the younger generation get inspired by people like you, Kanwal Rekhi etc

The amazing story of Chandra
by Dr P H Waghoekar on Jul 26, 2006 05:52 PM  Permalink

Chandra is one of the rare Indians who did miracle. But it is always limted to a few Indians. Every century produces a few "Avataras" in this country. We worship them. That is all! The education system and other related mechanisms, however,do not learn a lesson from such "Avataras". What is most needed that the education system must have clearcut objectives. Strictly adhere to the mechanism so designed. Keep aside personal/group iterests. Is it not miserable a country of 110 crore population can neither turn 11 members world-class foot ball team nor a single noble winner. We must set national policy. Give equal importance to all faculty, may be science, arts, humanities. The present trend is togo for engineering, medicalor MBA.The reason is high pay package. Can be a national goal? Chandra and likes must force politicians and Indian intellectuals to do something in the national interests.
