This One India One Rate is OPTIONAL that means older plans will not be abandoned. If a customer makes only local calls there are so many providers giving good deals. These socialistic bureaucrats must understand that technology is there for everyone to enjoy not just for selected few as in the socialistic era. One India clearly achieves this objective. It may bring the irrelevant BSNL, other in-between and inefficient government agencies down but that is inevitable. There is no justification of higher call costs in India especially in the form of subsidies to state owned dinosaurs.

at least This is very good and Transperent Tarrief given by BSNL and MTNL not hiding things like Private Operators who cut Rs50 for every scheme.. Enable Roaming Cut Rs 50... get sms for 50 paise Cut Rs 50.. Access special services Cut Rs.50... All the recharge amount is cut for such special services and what remains for talking is merily Rs 50... which can not last long for a month... then again recharge card before one month... effectively it falls Rs 700/- for one month... these tarrifs atleast are much lesser than what private operators are currently giving....
