This is time to revise our Education System as well as to build IPR Awareness
by Bala Murugan on Feb 14, 2006 11:05 AM  Permalink

It will be more strengthening our progress, if we revise our Education system to include Small project works as a part of syllabus which will promote creative thinking from school days. Symillarly, the Level of awareness amoung Students of even colleges about 'How to go further' from Creative/innovative ideas into Workable inventions, and Securing their Intellectual Property Rights(IPR), like getting Patent for their inventions, And getting venture capital funds, etc., are to be improved !!!

India, next innovation giant
by Murali Swaminathan on Feb 13, 2006 03:49 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Innovation in India should not be confined to the MNCs or large organizations, working on advanced technologies. Process of innovation should originate from the grassroot level, on solving day-to-day problems. Children should be taught to prepare themselves to face innovative situations right from the period of elementary education.

Banglore is going down.....
by Rahul J on Feb 13, 2006 10:46 AM  Permalink

about Pune .... almost every second person who I meet tell me r O a D p R o B l E m S :) Which IMHO is not really a big issue. The state govt. can change all that once it is brought out openly.

BUT Banglore! That city is certainly going down. Once the Indian IT Hub.... all FDI's and companies are running away like crazy from there.

Reason.....? lots and lots of them. but primarily the offensive and often agressive nature of every single karnataki towards north Indians.
I have heard stories which can be easily categorised as HORROR stories.
My close friend working in Hp came running to Noida at the first chance he got after spending just 6 months there.
Police brutality is widespread.
Room rent for anyone = 3000 Rs. Same room rent for north Indians = 3800 Rs. This goes for consumer goods in many other cases as well.
This is nothing short of regional division! Even Tamil Nadu is not that rash with north Indians.

and the results are only starting to show for Bangalore. The ghost that karnatakis have created is gonna come back to haunt them ....... soon!

India innovation
by Yamuna Harshavardhana on Feb 10, 2006 11:12 PM  Permalink

Hello

Is there no end to this self-tooting? We are getting better no doubt, but we have no right to judge ourselves -- only the others have it. The day TCS walks up to Seattle to discuss takeover of MS with BillG will be when we can talk about ourselves -- until then prove our worth and, if possible, quietly.

We The Clerks of Today.

If we still claim credit for India being the best in service sector, then I think we are living in the comfort zone mentioned by the author. This was a brilliant idea a little over a decade ago, but now if we still follow this model, we will doom ourselves. Its time to move towards product development rather then being a back office for some western countries.
