Dear Manoj, I fail to understand why you are using such abusive languages. A person after his graduation joins an organisation which comes in hand thereafter. But, little do they know that although it gives them a security the pay package is quite less than that in Private sector. Please don't under estimate the quality of such people who joins Govt. job. Are you aware that senior officers(Grp-A) are waiting for the govt. to declare a viable VRS for them? Why don't you all and the media pressurise the government to come up with a VRS package? The earlier it is done the better for a few lakh employees. These employees are stuck in the middle of an ocean. Even if the minimum number of years is curtailed from 20 yrs to 15 yrs and the grace period is enhanced to 10 yrs, in order to be eligible for pension, there will be voluntary appllications flooding lot of Ministries. LET US ALL ASK THE GOVERNMENT TO COME UP WITH SUCH OPTIONS.

I do agree that most of the govt servants (80%) are corrupt and they hardly work for the purpose they are appointed. nevertheless there are still honest persons (20%) in govt jobs who work hard. The fall in quality of work in Govt organisation may well be attributed politically driven decisions, reservation, promotion without work, No reward for the honest persons and No punishment for shirkers.
this is not a burden on the economy but it is the expenditure to run the govt. if u dont want to spend for them from time to time, then abolish the govt. machinery.
Why the hell all the people talk that this commission is going to be a peril? don't u know that no vacant post is being filled again ? The employees are taking the reponsibilities of the vacant posts. Even then they should be paid less? people cry about economic equality but why so much hue and cry about the salary hike of govt. employees even when a 2 or 3 per cent DA is enhanced. u talk about burden on exchequer but not the relief to the pockt of the employee.
to hell with the world bank boys, get real. all the subsidies are being abolished and the prices of almost all commodities are increasing many times, but no pay hike !?
whoever opposes the pay hike of government employees, speak with some sense to the ground realities.
A message to all those 'sarkari' types & their sympathisers demanding pay hike & parity in pay with private sector - buggers, start working like the private sector if you want their salaries. Be effcient - if need be, work 12-14 hrs a days as a large no of pvt sector people do (I and my people have a 6 day week!). Deserve & then ask, because end of the day, your salary bill & the fiscal deficit it causes is footed by taxpayers like us.

dear raghav,
how much you are working and how much you are paying the tax, by just paying a one rupee ticket you are claiming the ownership of the bus, highly disgusting from your type of tax payer, you are working for just six days for your self, the government servants are serving for nation at a less salary may be 1/4 of your monthly salary, take a case of postman, he pedals whole area and how much he gets, mere peanuts and a office assistant in a good private sector earns more than him, the roads on which your imported cars are running are constructed by these govt servants, the country in which you are living is taken care by police wallahs, who leave their family and come for soceity work, do you do this, you wil tell i will pay and purchase, but you dont have service notion in this therfore, if the govt servants ask for a just pay hike why your stomach is boiling, you also join the government service and enjoy the so called benefits
Decision to form the sixth pay commission is right because the salaries which are paid to the state and central government employees are nowhere in comparison with the IT & privates sector companies. Indian economy is said to be booming, but the middle class society (most of which work for government) is not getting any benefit. The prices of commodities are rising at such a pace that it can only be afforded by the IT or Industry people. Hence there was a need to revise the pay scale of the government sector employes. And I thank the government for taking initiative in this direction.

Ravi , i am not angry with your arrogance because this is only with which our countrymen is aware of. You are ignorant in the sense that there are only babus who form the strength of govt. work force. Why you are forgetting people who do work compensation for which even 6th pay commision will not be able to provide. There is such big scientific community taking care of your present and future needs, doctors, defence forces, scientists, nature canservationists and many more. Do you know what sort of pay govt. gave to them and what they are eligible for. They even not get what this so called BPO or callcenter professional get. Broaden your vision. You are not aware of kind actual difference in salary offered by govt. and private sector. It is just can't comaparable. I am not saying blindfoldily increase salary of everyone but they have to rational. So that next time a scientist and a high school teacher are not on same pay scale. Also about corruption its we only who are to blame and we only to clean it off. Ask yourself what steps you had taken against it.
There is a huge parity of payscale specially for technical persons between Govt. Employees and Private. A technical person who is involved with the development of the country is paid very less compared to his peers at private. Then why there is hue cry for setting up the pay commmission.
It is very much need of the hour and it should be implemented at the earliest.
The Center should share the payment of Govt. Employees with poor states. There is vast inequality of distribution of wealth among the states. This is injustice to poor states.
Pay commissions should be allowed to make recommendations only not to make decisions.
Dear Sir, The most imp thing we see in india is there is too much wage differece, low class worker gets very less pay and software profession gets more pay,y so only because he have no other option to go, nobody wil give him a job with good pay .I leave in sweden here even for small work, pay is almost equal to software professinal or any other job.India have to change Polical parties have to think about middle people. Atleast pay should be increased so that they can live without any tensions. We have to motivate our workforce .

Some states did not implement the recommendations of the last pay commission and set up their own pay commissions, like Karnataka.
While the State salaries are very low compared to Central salaries, take the case of a lecturer in a first grade college working under Karnataka State scales of pay. He/She draws less than Rs.12,000/- while a Senior Clerk of the Central Govt. draws more pay in comparison.
How is that one for comparing one with a Post graduation/Ph.D qualification with a mere matriculate?
