Needless to say that the pay hike is very essential after every 5 years. The pay should be equal for equal jobs in centre and the state. The age of retirement should be increased to 62 for all employees. Government is not facing financial problems because of implementations of pay commissions suggestions. Billions of rupees are going into the pockets of politicians, brokers, contracters and high government officials. . If this can be stopped the employees can be paid better salaries and other benefits. Government delivery system should be made so simple that one person can do the job of 10 person.
It is highly unfair to term the decision of the government to setting up the VI Pay Commission as wrong. I am a central government employee. During 2000 I got Rs. 11500 per month as pay and presently i am hardly getting Rs. 15000 as pay per month. Whereas my brother who works for a MNC in Bangalore who got Rs. 15000 in his initial appoint during 2000 is now getting Rs. 8.5 lakhs per annum. Not that governement employees are inefficient. A bureacrat who put in 30 years of service is getting only Rs. 40000 per month hardly. It is highly astonishing that whenever monetary benefits are announced for central governement, lot of hue and cry come in. We do work like an private person, may be our rights are more protected. I work almost 10 hours a day. Dont we people require better pay on par with Industry standards? What is wrong in it? It is true that government should give importance to improve the conditions of the poor. The rich they dont have any problem at all. Who is then responsible for the welfare of the middle class? Should they suffer through out?
many of big MNC's recruit our people for low skilled job, and many of our highly skilled and better people prefer this job to government technical jobs just beacuse of huge money and more perks.
if our own best people don't work for our country we will never grow faster. just patriotist will not retain many people, they need to be given better pay and better facilities. in many of our govt. organisatotions where prestegious projects of india are going on attrition rate since few years is so high that they are becoming unsuccesful and national burden. many govt. organisation have already lost huge talent due to poor governance and low pay.

I agree with Manjesh. I know many IT persons who have left their job after having completed 20 years in service. They worked hard for 20 years and after seeing the anomaly in pay, they left their job. Now they are working in MNC's with 5/6 times their early salary. Some of hem said that they would have left much earlier had there been a VRS scheme. Now, many departments are finding to cope with the situation as lot of talented people left their jobs. It has become very difficult for them to fill in the vacancies with the right kind of person. Therefore, IT IS HIGH TIME THAT ENGINEERS, SCIENTISTS, DOCTORS, PILOTS AND PEOPLE ALIKE are paid properly. Otherwise there will be sudden derth in quality manpower in government departments.
THE CGHS is of no use for them as they hardly find any time to visit the dispensaries during office days. In fact, the medical facilities should be at par being enjoyed by the Private Sector.
Private companies are financing four wheelers being purchased by their senior employees. The companies then gives a lumpsum every month for mainenance and upkeep of the vehicle. Similar facility should be extended to a least Grp-A officers. AAnd many more.
Actual pay hike given to an individual central govt. employee is not really as bis as it is being projected. Total figures are looking gigantic just because large no. of central govt. employees in the country. Pay rivision is a must and it is taking place in all the activities.
Govt. should think of minimizing other additional non productive expenses, mainly done by politicians and high level beurocrats
Hurra......h 6th Pay commission ! All government employees should be happy to hear this news and the government should be sad to bear the views. I personally feel that government should also form a commission for private companies to check their pay rolls according to the man months. Lest the companies are paying less than they are entitle for if so they should be penalised and employees should be compensated. I have been experiencing for the last couple of years that there is no rule exist in India on this account. Of course companies having professionals pay good at par without any isolation of their employees. At the end, my message is that if the government is thinking so, the government should also install a commission by whom other than government employees can be benefitted.
Pay commissions only look at increases in salaries. Recommendations on efficiency levels and reduction of staff are never implemented. Popular decisions like a pay commission, quotas and reservations will only lead to increase in Govt expenditure with no corresponding gain in increasing efficiency. Inflationary trends will continue and India's ec0onomic goals will be far from being achieved.
The Left pressures will cause the downfall of this Govt and help communal forces to get back to power.
