AAI can build great airports????
by Indian on Feb 01, 2006 04:56 PM  Permalink

Mr. Pande, please ensure that the toilets in the airports that AAI is maintaining are clean first. Talk of building others once you are done with that.

they Can't

All this talk is justified only to appease unions . Ask any contracter he will tell you the rampart corruption in AAI to get your work contracts. Everyone from the top to clerks are corrupt.then how can they build world class airports.
If they are talking about being world class, why is it that Mumbai and Delhi airports are below standard today and the need for privatisation arose.Where are AAI staff when people need them on day to day basis, they only come to be seen duringstrikes.
So I feel that Let the Unions stop bullying the people and goverment.

Protest Against Privatisation
by kalyan_are on Feb 01, 2006 04:42 PM  Permalink

It is highly deplorable and unfair the unions want to decide who shuld execute the projects. Every air-port user knows the efficiency and commitment of AAI employees to their job.Govt.agencies executing the projects will definitely lead to coorruption, delay, subquality and result in heavy cost overrun apart from consumer not getting the required facility. It is high time organised unions stop black mailing the Govt. and put nation\\\\\\\'s interest ahead on their priority list than protected job and undue vages.

If AAI can build great airports
by ashok gupta on Feb 01, 2006 04:41 PM  Permalink

Well who stopped AAI from building or maintaining. If you had built great airports there would be no song and dance then. Its easy to point fingers but the fact is our airports could be better and the services improved. As for the political parties stop waving your flags - rather you should have waved it under the AAI noses to gear up and start getting their act to-gether. Cannot there be anything in India without some kind of controversy - I will not build and will not let you build either but will cry and only talk about what needs to be done and what should be done without actually knowing what really needs to be done.

Lefts protest on Airport Privatisation
by Dr S Banerjee on Feb 01, 2006 04:36 PM  Permalink

If the AAI were so competent then why is the service of all airport irrespective of size are so pathetic.
There is no work culture. They are not accountable. All
the time Dharna or strike for demand but never on any
path to how to improve the service. These employes of
AAI took Indian public for granted and enjoyed the
fruit of monopoly. The time is runing out for India to
catch on other progressing nation like China. We had
enough of these protests and demand. Now we demand from
the Government to act and act with firm hand to see
the Nation progress inspite of these worthless no work
culture detractor of national interest. The paying public must get the best of service UNION or NO UNION.

Kick Pandhe out!!
by avidnewsreader on Feb 01, 2006 04:36 PM  Permalink

So it takes 20,000 employees to create the mess that our Airports are. India has had enough of "service" from these people. Privatise all the airports; kick out leftist, lethargic, dishonest, political employees like Pandhe. The sincere and hardworking employees will be automatically retained by private corporations.
