There is nothing new in this article. Such startling information has been pouring in since last so many decades; sometimes from the WHO; sometimes from some sociologists or other concerned people. But our Govts. have no concern all about this. For example, Swami Ramdevji of Pathanjali Yog Peeth as a one man army is fighting against all these odds and trying to educate the poor people as well as rich alike to avoid spending lakhs for medicines and hospitalisation but to go for the nature's gift of pranayam to get out of all the illness. Instead of extending all-out helping hand to him, the Govt. has served notice on him advising him not to make tall claims. There are so many doctors and hospitals advertising in newspapers claiming to have cured so many diseases but Govt. is not serving any notice on them. Then why only Smaiji become the scapegoat. The average Indians will never accept any such adventurisim bt any Govt. as they are fully convinced about the miracles of Pranayam when they themselves practised.. All good people should come together and exchange their views in this message board; let the learned people understand what is right and what is wrong.Jai Hind.U.K.Menon
The government should check fleecing of the poor by corporate hospitals. It should ensure that the corporate hospitals provide subsidised medicare to the poor. Often it is found that the corporate hospitals are unnecessarily putting the patients in ICU. The hospitalisation costs have been driving the poor into debt trap. The government should strengthen State hospitals and primary health centres. Hospitals, jointly owned by the public and the private sectors, should be started in all over the country to provide cost- effective medicare to the poor.
at this moment i want to share my opinion with indians all.it is a must that every young blossom has the responsibility to throw poverty away from india.they have to do it for themselves and for their next generation.
Good analysis but stops at exactly where it should have elaborated. We need to thibk of building alternate institutional structures in more concrete terms than just saying public-private partnerships. How does one contact you by email anyway?
