Big Dreams.
by Manth on Dec 26, 2006 10:23 AM  Permalink

I thought IITian's were suppposed [and capable] to do things on their own. Guess, i was wrong. If Mr. Madan is depending on his rest IITian frenz, then he is just like some other person from other college.

enterpreneurship is not so unusual for iitians
by bikram on Dec 26, 2006 10:23 AM  Permalink

there are many companies founded by iitians, not just in silicon valley, but in india too. It sure takes a lot of courage to leave a cushy job. Kudos to all such entrepreneurs.

unusal ?
by rickybobby on Dec 25, 2006 12:49 PM  Permalink

I dont really see how this is unusual ? A mechanical engineer working in the BPO industry is trying to make more money, thats his dream......

There are other real life "unusual" people, people working at the grass roots level who are trying to lift 30% of India's population that is living below the poverty line. Their stories of hope, courage and commitment should be hightlighted.

IIT, growth rate and India becoming a superpower are the only topics that rediff seems to be focusing on. Lets not forget that there is another India which needs more attention and without which India cannot even become a developed country.

Mr. Unusual
by L Suresh on Dec 25, 2006 12:20 PM  Permalink

I had the privilege of working with Sandy at HCL-HP in Mumbai. I was then a trainee at the Ballard Pier office and he was a mentor-of-sorts during my initial days when I was trying to figure things out. Extremely successful, extremely busy and extremely down-to-earth... you could say that he was a man of extremes!!!

Sandy, hope your dreams come true. And I'm sure you won't stop until that happens. All the very best.

Suresh

How is this unusual?
by Sunanda on Dec 25, 2006 12:51 AM  Permalink

This story sounds so ordinary and yet so contradicting. First of all this guy describes himself as someone who is not happy with fat paycheck, yet seems to me that that is exactly what he has done in jumping from one BPO to another. If this guy is so unusual then why did it take him these many years to start his own BPO related business? For that matter any business? I can personally think of so many NON_IITans who have much better and inspiring stories than this one! I am surprised that Rediff pulishes such stories, makes me wonder what will it take to publish my "ordinary" life story as "unusual" on rediff!
