Madam Nooyi has many chalenges ahead of becomming CEO of Pepsi. In the world of hostile atmosphere towards soft drinks, (pesticides in cola)she has to come out of this with a new confidence bluiding measures, not only towards customer but also the government. Any way "BEST OF LUCK " to her. From, PMGV SRINIVAS
Well, I feel it's a strategic move to announce the appointment following the recent ban issues in six states.
On the other hand, this announcement does herald the final crossing of the long-held glass barrier excuse we Indians have always used. Colas have always symbolised western culture and to have an indian lady fronting it should open up many deliberately closed eyes.
Indian Feminists: You have come a long way since our independence.
Indian MCPs: Buck up, cause it's just a matter of time I say before you are left behind.
This are the proud moments for India and Indians. What can be the better news at the eve of India's 60th Independence Day. This proves the mettle of Indian and improving credentials of Indian professional. Congrates Indira !
Dear Sir, I am totally mesmerised by the fact that a woman of indian name wearing sarees has been bestowed this great honour in history in the sense of the country u.s.a with a behemoth sucessfull MNC in it's own right where only competetion and merrit counts. 3 cheers & a hip-hip huray ; also on a side note would not mind Hillary Clinton to adorn the country,s top post in the future.BUT on a serious note with BILL GATES , Mr. BUFFET his freind ,our very own India's top (I.T.)MNC co's boss MR. N.R.MOORTHY retiring ; it only sends chill & shudders down my spine plus make my hair stand on its end ; the sheer opportunity it is giving to mankind to make BETTER WORLD cause generally the politicians who rule a country do not like to ever retire unless they are typically forced out;forget alone to demit voluntarily.JUST A CONTRAST.
This is a giant step in more than one way. Not only would a giant and legendary organization now be headed by a so called "outsider" with different color skin but at the same time from a different gender. Kudos to PepsiCo for demonstrating the real life example of breaking the glass ceiling rather than doing lip service like other organizations.
I do not think Pepsi has many other alternatives than this lady. She is truly awesome and I am pretty sure that Coca Cola is going to have a real tough time now.
