This is the only thing which i can say regarding this , dont be soo fools tat u will thnk people dont understand your siding of Coco-cola and Pepsi, all th eallegations mad ehere is purely absurd. Also saying about the Kerala ban and fighting of its current CM against those companies , the peoples verdict in the last assembly elections will talk . And can u please specify which panchayat has denied the allegations agaist theese conpanies
There are some good reasons to ban Coke and Pepsi in Kerala. I think think this is only good decision taken by VS Achuthandan Ministry . Why you are ignoring the problems created by these companies ?
All the state goverments have taken the right decision to ban Pepsi and coke. One cannot produce poison openly and also promote it by using the best of the cricket and film stars and at the same justify it by saying,'we are generating employment'.Pepsi and coke have to be banned in all the states of India.Goverments should not care about the levels of pesticide contents in these drinks.Wether the pesticide content is high, equal or low when compared to european or african or american countries, these drinks have to be banned as they contain harmfull contents in it.

Kudos Joshy. How much did the Cola companies pay you for that?!!
The ban of pepsi in kerala is irrelevent as well as unnecessary. Pepsi is one of the best drinks available in India. And it is the safest drink available today compared to the other branded drinks (both domestic & intern- national).
The Kerala government has taken this hasty step without even giving an opportunity to hear what pepsi had to say on this. There are lot of local drinks and even public distribution water systems which are of severe impurities and injurious to human health. Pepsi should approach court for Kerala government has denied justice to Pepsi.Either the ban should get removed or court should be prayed to ban all the products and produce that carry pesticide in it.
The ban on Coke comes mainly because there is complete lack of information from MNCs on what goes into making of Coke, how it is produced, and what it contains when it reaches consumers. Let this information be in public domain, and nobody would dare to ban Coke. Because, then the consumer would be making an informed choice about his diatery preferances.
I purchased a bottle of COKE from a grocery shop and was shocked to see a TOBACCO POUCH inside the bottle. Despite my many reminders COKE didn't responded to my complaint and now they are releasing Ads in papers that COKE IS SAFE. These soft drink MNCs have not contributed anything to our economy. This 'FDI will affect' is just a propaganda by the retainers of these companies. Kerala govt moved in right direction by banning these soft-drinks in the state.
one can't understand about the justification given regarding the ban on coke. Is the content of pesticides really matters for our health? Is the politician really bother about the common people health? Had any time these politicians thought of checking the content of pesticides in the normal drinking water? Water which is being used to make coke is same as we drink and if one check we consume much more pesticide daily. One can't make coke in bisellary water and more no one force to drink coke. i feel this episode has really been blown out of proportion.
This is just a cheap publicity stunt of Sunita Narain. When there are no other issues with them, this is a sure shot way of raking up emotions. If she's so concerned about health of people, why does she not take on the tobacco or liquor industry. Is CSE not aware of their effects? The rigorous tests that the water goes thru before being used in soft drinks makes it safer than most available supplies of drinking water in the country. And the pesticide contents are much less than what is normally there in other products.

you seem to be a person without any logic. If to do every research/test is Sunita,s responsibilty than what for govt. of India is for.People like you only critisize persons /organizations doing some good environmental work for the benefit of masses ,otherwise all the celebrities are busy collecting their cheques by speading lies and creating hype as these poisnous drinks contain legendary AMRIT STRAIGHT FROM GOD/GODDESES BREWRIES. a person of low awareness only can talk like this.
Dear Sir, I have certain reservations of your comments regarding the ban of colas in Kerala. The ban is not to frighten the foreign investors but to fulfill the will of the local people who voted the Left govt.to power in the last elections. Why the MNCs are showing double standards? While they give high quality drinks in Europe and US they forced us to take pesticides. They know very well that, in the name of foreign investment people like the author will support whatever they does. Let me ask you one simple question. Can you prove scientifically that colas kill our thirst? No friend not at all. It is always good to take coconut water, lassi, chaach, fruit juices, ganna ras and other natural drinks. Please encourage our farmers to avail all these things in the market. We have a great potential within our country. Then why are you always worried abouy foreign investment. So people like you are trying to make the point that Indians are not capable of doing things of their own. The number of people who may lose thier jobs because of cola ban is far less than the number of ordinary people who already lost jobs when cola arrived. So Kudos to V.S and team fro doing the right thing.

Well said Friend. Author is bending over to the colas for the piece of bone they would throw.
It is very callous for the other to compare water and vegetable pesticide contents to Colas. Does he mean that since we already consume some, let's eat more of it and die.
Author, Please don't write stupid baseless articles for petty money.
