The electoral strategy of the Congress Pary, now copied by SP, DMK and a whole lot of these modern rulers of India, is quite simple: Keep the Hindu votes DIVIDED, appeal ONLY to the numerous caste in each state AND appeal to the Muslim vote-bank by keeping the Mullah's happy. Marshall the support of the Marxist historians and social activists like Arundhati Roy to show that all of India's troubles were, and still are, entirely due to the caste system. A system that the brahmins, who made their way into India via the Khyber Pass, "flaged off" with Manu selling copies of his Smriti in street corners. Of course, the simple, egalitarian people of India, decided to give up on their idyllic paradise of equality, they enjoyed before the brahmins came, to opt for this inequitous system. With that view of history, it is easier to win elections through constant caste fights set off amongst the Hindus. In the Congress dictionary, whoever tries to unite the Hindus is "communal". The Supreme Court has let India down. At a time when India needs the best and the brightest for competing in this world, this is several steps backward. But then the Congress is not leaving any stone unturned for the 2009 elections. First a political budget and now reservations. How much will Congress eat into India before it is satisfied? Why is it bent on destroying the future of India?
Remember Mandal commission. VP Singh was accused of inflicting incalculable damage by bringing mandal commission to the fore. The Editor TOI then had stated that Mohmd Ali Jinha had partioned india into two halves..but VP Singh by implementing Mandal had brought about a thousand divisions of India. The reservation was to end after 15 years. What our politicians have done in the name of votebank politics is to perpetuate it for 60 years with no end in sight. We have reservation of 75% in some states!! How come? As long as reservation are there India will remain devided and hatred among the castes will continue to grow. That is a fact.
The writer of this article seems very much annoyed because of quota. Where was these bloody fanatic when these brahmins were having 100% reservation in the hands of corrupt rulers. Why has he forgotten the history so fast? Now his dirty ass is burning and I am putting a bit more red chilly on that.

Oh, Ms or Mr. Manjula On, You are turned ON again with your favourite theme !!! Tell me, learned person, why is there a hierarchy, that too, a feudal hierarchy in Pakistan? There is no Hinduism there, after 1947. Did you know that only about 40 families own 85% of the wealth in Pakistan? Do you know that in rural Sindh, the Bhutto family own hundreds of thousands of acres of land? You should talk to some educated people in Karachi. I have. Do you think there are no hierarchies in other countries? What do you know about the Kennedys, Clintons, Bushes and other families in the USA? Have you heard of the "Boston Brahmins"? These are not the new arrivals, brahmins, your enemies, from India. I am talking about white Americans. Do you think Russia and China, do not have "irrational hierarchies"? I am not supporting any hierarchies, here or anywhere else. I have NOT benefitted from any hierarchy anywhere in the world. I am asking for REALISM. View the world, as it is. I am NOT GOD, nor are you. We cannot change the world by holding simplistic views. You are such an idealist, Madam, Aren't you taking the easy way out - Live within the comfort zone of your hatred and "pet theories". Hinduism is too large and too old for you and me. Nothing said by you and me will bring about any quick changes. Hinduism has had its own life, over the last 5,000 years. Puppies like us barking at the moon, I feel the moon may not be frightened.

For days now this whole opposing the reservation thing is goin on. Wouldn't it be great if these people could actually carry on something like this for a "REAL" Cause. Hey what about Pilots still Dying in Faulty Airplane Crash. , What about POOR Public Transport? what about the Electricity Shortages? What about lack of even basic amenity like Drinking Water? What about women being raped in this century of "GLOBALISATION" - When these same protesting people are giving excuses of Globalisation and Market Reputation being at Stake in relation to quotas in private cos.!) Under this whole opposition lies their own selfish motives/benefits. Getting qualification and then trying to move abroad or live a "COMFORTABLE" life here in India and make no real contribution to the society! Shame on Such People. Just by giving lame excuse that people qualifying for reservations won't be benefited in reality as it is just a government's tactic shows how mind numbingly callous they are toward the sufferings caused by their father/forefathers for thousands of years! and maybe even themselves on some level at some point!
