Incase our honourable government go ahead with Mr Arjun Singh's suggestion All out institutes of national importance will loose there importance.
The intermediate solution to this should be to provide free education from primary level and make the candidate competative enough to compete. Additional facilities like books, scholarship should be provided. Talent can be identified and individual should be made competative enough.
The idea of having 49.5% reservation is ........ This idea is just for "VOTE Bank" not for any other specific reason.
All educated people know the fact and agree to it. The job of government is to provide overall development ny bringing people up its not to make people feel up by bringing level down. The government is for the country as a whole.
If government thinks that this is important then they can open more institutes of natuional importance with 100% reservation. We dont mind in that case.
This is a request to the government not to make any such rule, as this will open gates for talent flowfrom our country.
It is not correct to say that if there is 49.5% reservation there will be 50 students belonging to sc st obc. Our Tamilnadu experiance says they will be around 75 to 80% and in time grow to 95%. This is what we have seen and not joke. First the govt should take statistics to see whether obc students are not getting any of iit iim sets and then decide. In present days many private instt 've come up and seats r given to the rich without asking any caste. the only person affected r poor students of any community. so economic creteria should prevail
When reservation of seats in Government and private colleges, jobs in private and public institutions are made on the basis of sex, religion, castes, economic status etc. we are not giving justice to all citizens of India equally. Members of so-called weaker and socially backward communities becoming more and more influential and richer, and members of so-called socially forward communities are becoming more and more poorer and lose importance in the society. Even after 60 years of Independence is it necessary to have reservations? It is a mockery of Indian Constitution by not encouraging meritorious candidates to shine and driving them out to foreign countries to shine. All Indians should be treated alike and there should not be any difference because of gender, caste or social status. Let us do away with the policy of reservation and do not deprive the opportunities of meritorious persons to shine. Let us not insult the various communities by highlighting their castes and not allowing them to compete as Indians in general. All are equal before Law.
Yes there should be reservations for everybody, since in the democracy everybody has a right to live and survive.
If reservations cant be provided in existing IITs and IIMs for the backwards, then new exclusive IITs and IIMs have to be set up for the obcs. otherwise the solution is IITs and IIMs for every caste and Religion is the answer for social problem
i belong to the forward class .. with all ppl acquiring Backward class certificates, forward class are the minority in the society..why dont u give us a minority quota ?(atleast 20%)
In your article on the subject, the answer `yes' to the second question - does this mean that 49.5% of students in these institutions will be SC/ST/OBC? - is not exactly correct. 49.5% is the minimum percentage of SC/ST/OBC students that will be there. One must not forget that the balance 50.5% seats are also open to these categories. So any SC/ST/OBC student who qualifies for one of the 50.5% open seats, will be in addition to the 49.5% assured seats for these categories.
Reservation policy is the criminal policy practiced by our parliament from parliament to parliament. When will such outrageous crime on the people of India stop.Do our highly caste oriented self proclaimed seculars realize and be mersiful to the suffering public for a good cause and put an end to such practices.

Mr Hiraman
How the hell do you think that Arjun Singh has done the right thing. Get one fact straight. You have to work hard to get something. Dont Look for reservations. If this law gets implemented and 50% seats are reserved, still it will do no good to you. You will NOT get a job in a MNC. MNC's are not bound to pick crap who just manage to get hold a of a degree on the basis of reservation. You will still see yourself sitting in a govt. office ( of course, you get the job AGAIN bcoz of reservation) in the blazing sun and trying to make petty money thru adopting corrupt ways. You WILL still be a LOSER. All you will manage to do is pull down the other meritorius students.
