India is democracy and NOT meritocracy.
by New York on Apr 13, 2009 11:38 PM  Permalink

Since Hinduism is a covert mask for Casteism,
Govt must amend constitution to promote socio-economic DIVERSITY in Private Institutions,Temples,Judiciary and in Defense services.

* 50% of Priests,Supreme Court Judges,Defense Staff must be from OBC communities.
* 35% Priests,Supreme Court Judges,Defense Staff must be from DALITS and TRIBALS.
* 15% of Priests,Supreme Court Judges,Defense Staff must be from UPPER Castes.

You must do this till 85% of all registered marriages in India are INTER-CASTE or INTER-FAITH.
This is the only way to STOP dis-integration of India.

No Reservation
by Nitin Singh on Aug 24, 2007 11:04 AM  Permalink

If a person clear 12th standard its means he is able to face the competition for higher education. If he deserve then he can get the admission. Reservation is a way to give a advantage to these backward class guys not more then it. If politician really want to help these cast then why they dont open a school in there village, why they dont open a couching center, why they dont provide a free education to then? Govt have to provide a resources to them at the low level means from the starting point so that they can compete with others. Poor peoples are also in general category then what about them? every where they need reservation , in public sec, education, private sector, why they are studying Arjun Singh will deliver the degree at there home and in last come and get the job. Is General people are fool that they are doing hard work for getting job? we have to think abt this and come fwd for stoping this.

Quota implications
by nagarajank on May 20, 2006 04:30 PM  Permalink

The implications of this quota system now proposed will have far reaching implications for the meritorius students and all their sincere efforts by getting high scores will not be recognised. It is stated that out of 100 students admitted about 50 will go under qouta category and the rest will be merit based. There is a catch here also.Even in the merit category OBC/SC/ST students will find a place based on their higher scores. And under quota they are assurd of 49.5 percent irrespective of the cut off marks for merit.Actual presence of OBC/SC/ST will be even more than 80 in a 100 lot. This will definitely affect the merit category. For example even a high scoring merit candidate with more than 90% may not get admission where as OBC/SC/ST canditates even with 60to 70 % marks may get admission.

What is 49.5% quota about?
by S.Ramaswamy on May 20, 2006 08:17 AM  Permalink

What were the students who are opposing the reservation doing when the Bill was brought in the Parliament?
While I support their demand for the roll back of the bill a more honorable way out to the proponents of the bill would have been to defer the introduction of the bill itself
If the congress party had no shame in amending the constitution to bail out Indira Gandhi from the efect of the judgement of the Allhabad High Court or for 'helping' the minority when the court ruling went against Sha Bano, they need not fear losing face by revoking the mischivous amendment.
Their concern for the minority is now famous! By their own adsmission the SCs,STs and the OBCs are in majority and the others are in minority.Let the minority be protected!!!

by neha menon on May 14, 2006 11:48 PM  Permalink

I appeal to all the student community all over INDIA to fight for their rights and let these politicians know what the YOUTH can do.If INDIA wishes to call itself a devloped country, then do away with this so called reservation(VOTE-BANKS) and treat every citizen to be equal in terms of caste, relegion, sex.
I ask for all the educated and sensible citizens of INDIA to vote in the forthcoming elections and standup for their rights.
