every one is saying that coaching classes are responsible for low quality students in iit jee. but i ask how may nobel przes are won by iit students or proffessors. and now think abut MIT(us) there pattern of teaching . in india students just crame the facts to pass their exams once thy pass the feel relax. actually school level education system is to be changed. everone knows how checking of copy is done. how much pariality is being done in school. how it is possible that teaching by school teacher in private school earning 2000 rs wil be at par those teachers who teaches in coaching classes. if studying in school satisfy the jee thirst why is the need of coaching classes. so the root cause is our education system. not coaching classes.and i recommand u to go through admission process of mit. just to have feel what isad see a video of " interview of walter lewin on youtube" . i tell u u will be ashamed of our education system

The new IIT JEE rules is a very good step. I, myself, preparing for the exam : has reduced the stress levels. But what is 60% in boards??? Must be a Joke. Everybody gets that. 80% would sound serious. If the importance is being given to boards, then why is the exam being held in the middle of the PUCboard exams....???
A periodic review more so if slated, dynamises the process by injecting more vitality into the process and is basic requirement to stay on top. I wish the same happens to reservation policy also, and if a parent has enjoyed the benefit of reservation the same is not provided to their off springs This will skim off the creamy layer to benefit the sub surface inhabitants. rsvarma
If the pattern and other changes were to be made, why was there a 2 stage notification dated 30th July 2005. Were the IIT's & Govt. sleeping then. This has happened for the 1st time that there were 2 different notifications. This decision is really unfortunate. It should be referred to a larger bench. I don't think only a few higher authorities are qualified to take such a big step.
