Many French are trying to beat the high cost of diesel by illegally pouring sunflower oil into their tanks. And the Germans are clearing grocery store shelves of rapeseed, or canola oil, to fill up on the cheap.

Brazilians are already the world's biggest consumers and producers of ethanol for their cars. Forty per cent of all the fuel that Brazilians put in their vehicles is now ethanol, made from abundant and cheap sugar cane

coconut oil to run engine

Nothing new.
I remember a documentary in National Geographic, where they showed some people in a remote island in the Pacific ocean, running the only jeep in the island with coconut oil.
They were shown preparing the oil and then using it to run the jeep, without modifying the engine.
This was some 5-10 years back.
No big deal......
