I stronly support the Union Involvement in IT industry,Because i am one of the Worst victim of The Management which is supposed to be highly Professional.
Humiliations like Unnecessary Transfers to remote places without any need ,Stopping the increments & Forcing the wrong decisions regarding the perfomance of the Employee during Appraisals has been very common with this so called professional management i have been working under.Infact My 2 months salary & balance Earned Leave of more than 34 DAys were adjusted against LEAVE WITHOUT PAY inspite of following the official procedures of taking leave. But UNIONS have their own Problems.IT INDUSTRY is Full of qualified Professionals & Hence i would like UNIONS also must change their Policy Pattern accordingly which suits the professional Environments.
Apperently the Trade Unionists want to sign the death warrent of IT industry , which is running smooth now. The only hope is that IT industry employees are educated unlike in other industries, where the trade unionists could fool the illiterate workforce easily.
I liked IT, coz it never had political interference. These stinky politicians want to make a mess here either.... Hey you...dirty politicians...keep yourself till PSU and other industries....We dont need you...
This is the last thing we need. This is like a worst dream one can have. Look back and what you see is strikes and bandhs and nothing else wherever the unions operated. They never ever worked for the welfare of the people. They worked for themselves and the political parties.
long work hours 10-16-24 hours a day depending on deadline.Pathetic ergonomics.Pathetic facilities.Cheap machines with monitors' radiation searing their eyes every minute. Zero Job security.Forever on a slippery learning curve with zero training inputs.Exploitation of the freshers. Get paid same as the janitors, fish pond cleaners in the US and other western countries.Stress related injuries.Pressure cooker atmospheres.Demanding customers spoilt by labor contractors who make all the money where the developers get a pittance.3-6-12 month contracts. No leave facility. No Holidays. A Glamorous IT job. They need urgent attention before a generation is exploited to the last ounce of their flesh and brain. The condition is worst in small IT cos. where youngsters hang on hoping to learn something. The companies have 10 hour work days which is itself illegal whereas employees work 12-16 hours out of under staffing
It looks like Leftists are just left with bones in other industries and they see a lot of opportunity to suck IT/ITES companies and now they have turned their attention to it.
There is no genuine concern for the People working in this industry, they just want get a power to bargain with these companies. Don\\\'t fall to this pray, If at all the Unions come to this Industry believe me all these MNC\\\'s will be looking elsewhere than India.
I am an IT professional but extremely criticise this proposal. We work hard, some times long hrs also but we are paid for that.No other industry can match the salary. We are highly educated people and know our responsibilities. This is tipically a illitrate labour mentality to form the Union. Because of this type of Unions only, 90% Pubilc sector companies are poor performers or sick units. So eventually it's very bad proposal.
No. Currently IT industry employees are looked well by their employers.Making a trade union will create unnecesscary political issues in this industry rather than the benefit of employees.Currently this is untouched by any union, let it be as it is.As a software professional I think that IT industry do not need a trade union.I dont see any issue in a point that IT people has to work 10 - 14 hours a day.We get challenging oppurtunities,we get our chance to prove ourselves and our hardwork is rewarded, work culture is good here.So when all these facilities are there who wants to indulge in politics, after all nobody is benifitted by it(other than politicians)
Looks like the leftists are only interested in making sure that India remains backward. They are regressive. Who said to them that the IT and ITES industry workers are interested in forming a trade union. This is just a cheap tactic by them to gain publicity and try to increase their sphere of bad influence. Unfortunately for the retrograde leftists, the IT and ITES workers in India are an educated and modern group who have common sense and cannot be manipulated by the leftists, unlike the people in government and public sector enterprises.
This proposal will not be tolerated and opposed tooth and nail.
