We have the best example of unions in Kerala and look at the state of affairs in the state. Let it be people. Unions are formed where people want to secure their jobs without working hard. It is a sorry excuse simply put to avoid hard work. It is a good time for India to be receiving all this IT work and employment options are being generated for individuals who are fresh out of college or high school. There are people who really need that extra money to move on life due to lack of funds at home or other reasons. It is really a good thing. Look at the positive aspect and you will see the negative that comes along with it is nothing.
We already have leaders(our management) who is paying us for our job(IT engineers are the most paid engineers in india..Think of a 10 years back when civil engineers used to get only 3 or 4 lakhs after even 10 years of experience). We are already treated by them(our management..they dont atleast call us cyber coolies) in a very good manner. So we (IT professionals) dont need some more leaders who pretends that they care us more than the management and who takes the money out of us(enrollment fee, election expense, meeting charge etc etc. The left leaders very well know that where the money is residing now in indian service economy.). The only thing about the trade union leaders is that they are good marketers (even better than the formerly educated people of most organization). They market well but I would suggest all the IT professionals not to be trapped by the trade union leaders. We should have some labour laws, the left parties can very well do that now since they are supporting the central government. Why do they need unions for making labour laws? This is their pure political motives and not the concern for the IT employees or as they call "IT coolies".
Job protection? No such thing is possible in todays world and should not be sought in any sector. If there is a job gaurantee what is the incentive to perform? What is the need of the left in the world. The left theory is discredited and shown to be hogwash, just to collect people and hold the country to ransome so few of its leaders can profit.
The purpose of our so called comrades to try to push the trade union into the throat of IT/BPO/ITes employees is to get rich dividends in the form of Union "chandha". Bank employees are the richest and highly paying union-ists and comarades tentacles are now trying to raise higher to fill their coffers with more money from richer IT sector and sending the sector to coffin.
India and China have nearly equal population and both started to reform their systems at nearly same time. But alresy china is in an unassailable position for India. The unions are the root cause of lack of progress in India, apart from the corrupt polticians in both central government and the state govts.
Indian ITs need unions like one needs a hole in head!
A BIG NO to trade unionism in IT sector. This Frankenstein once created, will decelerate the growth of budding BPO and IT industries and eventually will gobble up everything. We already have enough examples which bears testimony to this.
IT Industry people WORK FOR THE SAKE OF BRINGING A CHANGE IN THIS WORLD AND THE FOR THE ENJOYMENT IN PROGRAMMING.
Does communist party ever know that there is a large community which produces goods free of cost with out asking for single paise. Yes it is free software foundation (FSF) where people develop software free of cost and spread it to the world. The 2nd popular OS of the world (Linux) is a free software. Dear CPI your labour laws are not applicable to us. Keep them for your party workers.
We IT people believe in bringing a change to the way the world works today by using electronics and computing. We have changed the business processes of the world by using our computing knowledge - this is what ignites us. It gives us immense pleasure and a sense of purpose in doing so. Ofcourse we work for money for our living, but is not alone the sole purpose. Please tell us how we could enter into your party and change the way it works!!
NO- not again! They finished off Bengal and educated Bengalis had to go elsewhere for their careers. Now they want to do it to the whole country. There should be a law against interference by third parties.
