YES WE NEED IT. IT BOSSES ARE UNRULY AND NEEDED TO BE CONTROLLED
by rep sor on Jul 06, 2014 12:15 AM  Permalink

All messaged from big bosses are only to save themselves from the non sense they make. The HR is always a negative department in the organzation and which can be find out very easily on taking anonymous surveys. IT employees have been put under tremendous pressure and stress to perform and also performance does not matter for promotions. We have trained to tell that by HRs. Organization bosses are having unchecked authorities which is eventually letting the employees to be their slaves . The way organization fires someone is not at all monitored by any third party agencies. 60% employees are fired only for the fancy of the bosses even if they perform well. It has to be checked and no one in INDIA has absolute power. The power is with people and that is democracy and the organization which hires citizens of a democratic country cannot have undemocratic policies and practices. We have to raise our voice and we need proper platform for it.

Monsters created needs to be controlled
by vipin jose on Dec 30, 2009 02:55 PM  Permalink

Would you be able to control the CITU headload workers in Kerala? I say the party has lost all control of this monster. Now this has become a bunch of goondas who demand unreasonable money for unloading household items. IT field is running smooth enough. We do not require a set of monsters running around in IT too

Don't assume IT industry going smooth. They are earning a lot but still they do not look after their employees welfare, as long as they make millions they are happy. People who started their career in big companies like infosys and worked there for 14 years have been fired in one day and it is not a performance issue. In the next ten years there will be more unemployed people in IT industry than any other industry and organizations which made billions are not going to take any responsibility on this

do IT needs TU
by krishnamurthy on Aug 27, 2006 04:15 PM  Permalink

I had gone through the commentaries above. Basic understanding of the history of union movement and its contribution to work force is missing. While west was paying 18 to 24 dollars an hour , Indian wages were not even Rs.15 or 20 a day. If a fare wage and proper share of income from the production takes place with 8 hours of wage, corporates will not fall and unions will not resort to strikes.
IT sector shall shamefully accept that they extract 18 hours of work and Young IT employees are admitting that they will be burnt out before the age of 35 and 40. Call centres and BPO are extracting 14 to 15 hours of work and slowly the realization is taking place that they will be pushed out at the age of 30 with American English and narrow lanes of knowledge. Many of those who are now writing are recalling the history of the unions which have been formed and framed by managements introducing the leaderships as convict warders in jails
Lack of statistics mislead the writers to argue that TRADE UNIONS are the cause of closure of industries. More than 70% of industrial closure are due mismanagement ,
market conditions and the biggest evil is FUNDS DIVERSION to personal pleasures and new ventures without professional knowledge. BETTER EDUCATION on the conditions of workers and Union struggle is essential to accept or reject UNIONISATION. We advocate Uniionisation in CALL CENTRE AND BPO

by george on Nov 07, 2005 05:13 PM  Permalink

Dear Red Comrades,

FOR GOD'S SAKE LEAVE THE IT SECTOR ALONE. The young generation is doing well in the sectors hence please don't ruin the future with unions. Everybody in the country knows what unions have done to the PSU'S of this counrty. GOD'S SAKE ALLOW US TO LEAD FOR GOOD LIFE.

Trade Unions in IT industry
by P.S.Rao on Nov 07, 2005 10:08 AM  Permalink

Wherever labour is exploited e.g. Call Centres labour unions are desired. In the rest of the industry where there is perfect understanding between the management and labour it is better to keep off the trade unionism. Since labour unions in India are run on political lines. The labour cause is pushed behind.
It is better IT industry are liberal in labour management. This would keep the labour leaders out.
Labour mobility should be easy in IT industry. It would enbale the best among them move higher with ease.
