i am student of iipm according to u do iim does that but i can say that our institution teaches us motivates us for intution.what do u think about IIpm mail me as soon as u can......
Although I fully agree with the writer on his view that B-Schools can't possibly teach intuition I beg to differ on his other views. I feel that in order to be intuitive, one needs to be innovative, something that the work environment of the company needs to provide. And obviously when one tries to be innovative there is bound to be a % of failure which the company should be in a position to stomach. Only then can one one hope to be intuitive.
Unfortunately in day-to-day business, where quick decisions are required to be made one cannot be expected to be intuitive unless the person has rich experience in the field. Thus I believe innovation and intuition should best be left to the R& D unit of the company which inturn can suggest fresh approaches and innovative procedures to increase efficiency and productivity.Only when this is systematically done will it result in intuition.
Hence it is ridiculous to expect intuition from even products of the top B-Schools.
Hi , I agree with what Mukul Aggrawal , author of this article told in this article. Intution is not taught in B school and more and more data gives hazy picture and uncertainty of the decision to be taken .But i think decision is more on perspective. Any problem can have multiple perspectives and the decision is to be taken on considering differnet perspectives , to understand different perspective one has to analyse the data so data plays an important role in decision making and one can't go away with it. Intution decision making helps you to take decision based on your experience and your own perspective. My question is how to develop a tool called as intution for making a good decision??? If it is natural and god gifted then no need to think about it for B school study but if it can be develpoed then expect one more article on how to develop a Intution skill for better decison making.
