hi sir, this is the second time ,same article I have read. I read this article first time in the BUSINESS STANDARD - THE STRATEGIST column and I find it were intersting how you have explained. I agree with you what you said. MBA is all about polishing your attributes which you have ,its doesn't teach the real corporate toughness, problems etc.I think the practical teaching is very less in the Course content, what we study at B-schools is also not very updated as it has been written sometime back.Till a B-school student completes its study and enters into the world of reality those thing become old . I agree with the writer on most counts .some of the most successful leaders in corporate world were not MBAs by qualification like jack welch, Narayan murthy, richard branson,Bill gates etc.The fact that leading B-schools of Asia invite the Dabbahwallahs for a lecture on supply chain is ample testimony to the fact that management is practical skill that are developed than learnt in aior conditioned lecture halls.
Definitely sir, I agree with u.we are just taught the educational aspects of M.B.A. not how we implement it in the corporate sector. Trust me a person having aquired just the bare minimum of education required can create more waves in his work life, provided he has aquired people skills, compared to any M.B.A.because most of the course contents taught in M.B.A. are hardly applicable in the work sector. I agree with the comments because M.B.A. programme should focus more on people skills rather than stuff the brains with knowledge which the students don't know where to, how to, when to, why to utilise?
this is is an excellent view on MBA's and working in the corporate word. I guess courage is something which is difficult to learn and even more difficult to practice jaidev
