now that getz has been discontinued long back in 2009 (BS-IV being made mandatory in Metros), swift still around but in a new avatar, there is no cause for a debate or buying choice. i have used both extensively and have been an old Maruti customer. But, fact is, once you drive a car oozing quality like the Getz, that's when you know what was lacking in the good old Maruti vehicles... i.e. QUALITY and safety measures at par with the European standards. Getz was built for Europa and not for the budget-minded Indian middle class, so the lasting quality of every bit, the innate safety and good workmanship of the Getz is astounding.
No wat i would score the Swift although a good car, in the same ranking as the Getz.
I have tested the driving it is not that much great. You know what most of the people wont accept the fact, because Maruthi is well established out here so no one want to let them down. Its not Suzuki its becoz of maruthi. One simple question? Could you please describe the shape of swift car? dont tell me its a wide engineering. its look like a box. and the performance is no way near to GETZ. May be you need to compare it with ESteem or Alto.
Getz, Simply amazing. Please dont compare SWIFT with GETZ.

man dont tell tat cause today in the paper there was a comparison between swift and gets from hundai guys...... lol,. for me its swift, it out classes gets in all the class. hats off to suzuki
i would like to know the price of getz cars, can a govt. employee of Bhutan purchase one from Guwahati or within Bhutan. what are the terms and condition for payment. please let me know.
This clears many of the points before one decides to buy either Swift or Getz. I agree with the author that, Swift scores in looks, performance while Getz is better in space and interiors.
Looks are subjective but I will Swift is not designed in balance as for as looks are concerned.French quirkiness married with retro looks in part and some modern lines do not jell. Perhaps they should have hired an Italian design house/designer. You have underplayed the roominess aspect of Getz as this is the main focus in Super minis and not acceleration or spirited driving. There are other cars for performance driving. I feel Swift has been overrated by quite a bit.
Getz is a flawed launch, it was the move by Hyundai to make hay while the sun was shining on Santro & Shahrukh. Swift proves once agn wat a shrewd mind rests inside the frail body of Khattar. i've met him & know for sure how street-smart he is.
Getting the value delivered & the price combo right the first time is a quality tht Maruti has demonstrated time & agn, versa notwithstanding.
