dont get reactive and act wisely
by nitin on Nov 09, 2005 04:59 PM  Permalink

it's true that india lacks at some points to china and it is also true that india is growing at a very fast pace.looking at others growth we cannot decide our growth ,similarly we will have to know what we have and what we can really do in short term-1st and in long term-2nd goal.we are developing ourselvesas a service provider and just as an acceptor to other nations products.why dont we lay stress on manufacturing sector, production and exporting as our major sectors. why cant we lay stress on the Govt, to foreign projects not as mergers but as greenfield projects?yes its true that we at this stage are in a developing stage and it is also true that we can takeover american and chinese economy but we will have to act like "chanakya" and apply a "SAM-DAMand BHED " style to takeover the competition. chinese are doing takeovers in america(IBM by LENOVO,GM by CHERRY etc.)so now it is the time that Asians will rule but this has to be india and for that not only the govt. but also the people, graduates, elders and the society in general will have to take the attitude of Producing and for that provide all the needeed facilities for 10 yrs.and after that India will see the results-CHALLANGE

India has everything
by lakshmi on Sep 23, 2005 02:51 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

there is nothing that is not available in India. But the resources r not reaching the people properly.there is corruption from low level to high level.People are very much bothered about themselves rather than the society. The youth of today should join hands together and get into politics for the minds of educated youths work better than uneducated politicians ruling the country.

Mr. Swapnil Dhayade,

At first itself you need to change your attitude towards people & also towards your country and then think or comment on others.

India neet to Change Political Attitude
by Swapnil Dhayade on May 07, 2005 10:26 AM  Permalink

India want to be one of the Super power in coming years like China.China's success is their "collective political will and attitude" Once the decision is taken for any Project they just work for the completion and success of it. India first lacks in decision and then execution. Even during execution, different politicians has different opinions and try thier best to collapse the project instead to support to the decision makers.
So it will take us years to make Mumbai like Shanghai. Even we will not be able to deal with Electricity Problem & tomorrow we will face water problem.
So comparision is good mentioned by author. But we really need to understand our own problems and need a collective political attituded to solve those immediately.

Comparison gives oppurtunity to do more!!
by Aneesh on Feb 17, 2005 11:30 PM  Permalink

Very good and correct comparison!

I still recalls one of the china's cycle company which offered to sell bicycle equivalent to Indian bicycle (Hero) in the home town of Hero at less than half a price of what Hero was selling about four years ago.

The comparison gives an oppurtunity to do more and learn from neighbours. Although we don't want to learn from what the advanced American or European countries are doing, but now our very neighbours is achiving, we have to learn, how consistent efforts, sincerety, dedication and truthfulness takes the whole society from so low to so high in few years.

Well done Chinese.

India and China - our woes
by K.VEE.SHANKER. on Jan 27, 2005 07:15 PM  Permalink

I don't know the purpose of this article as the author has only listed only well known facts about countries. But,I don't agree the comparision on Sardar Sarovar Project with Five Gorges Project. The author points out the court cases that come in the way as if the littigants are only to be blamed.Everyone must understand that most of such cases Government's share is much more than 50%.In case of Sarovar project,it is the sheer negligence of the government towards rehablitation of the evacuated people.Probably this is the only country where state governments can boldly declare that they can not implement their promises made to the affected.I beleive that if China can evacuate a thousand villages in no time, they may rehablitate them suitably with equal speed.I beleive that the affcted people of any project have a priority over the beneficiaries of the project.Besides I don't think that Chinese start many projects without any financial responsibility and let every year pass by with token allotment in every budget.

Thanks for the Candour!
by patentneer on Jan 19, 2005 07:41 PM  Permalink

Hats off to China.

In context, this is the feeding chain:

Pakistan-India-China-Russia-America.

Problem: America and Russia are wary of China,
India, with its delusions of taking on China,
misses the point. China could'nt care less of
India, it's got bigger pokers in the fire.

Thanks for putting it in black & white(yellow?).

Matrimonial columns reflect nnaked reality, best
option for Indians-immigration,...leave the pack:(

Indo - China
by Tushar Barot on Jan 19, 2005 08:45 AM  Permalink

Mr. Rajwade seems to be missing a point here or deliberately turing a blind eye to the fact that economic reforms were initiated by late Mr.Narsimha Rao and not by Indira Gandhi or Rajiv Gandhi. It seems that Mr. Rajvade is a typlical congress Sycophant who gives credit for every good thing that has happened to country to the Nehru family. Infact due to the short sightednees of Nehru and his policies this country has paid a heavy price and is still paying.

Reality Bites
by saurav on Jan 19, 2005 07:27 AM  Permalink

A article which brings reality to the fore. I have been wondering what is this hulla-gulla about India ahead of China, and similar stuff making headlines more than frequently nowadays. Then I decided to do my own analysis about India and China.

I was astounded about the bombastic nature of this "India beat China" articles. How the economists and the columnists make a rosy picture out of a mess is what I came to know from these "India beat China" articles. We Indians will never stop making mountains of our own fame, never bothering that the mountains across the border are higher and made by global talks, not by talks at home.
