ICICI'S POOR RESPONSE- IT'S NOT REALLY EASY
by BALAKRISHNA KAMATH on Apr 23, 2005 06:11 PM  Permalink

ICICI has grown fast without any control on their employees / DSA 's.
Eg. response from their Chennai office is appalling. In spite of hundreds of calls to their DSA- Srikanth associates , disbursementment against my application for takeover of loan made in first week of Sept. 04 ( application no. 777-3105846 & 777-3105772 ) is still pending - even after 7 months !. After filling loan application form & giving documents , I had to chase every day ( Only one time they contacted me hurridly was in end feb. to meet their sanction target and collected pre EMI cheques & notary fees & forgotten afterwards).
When HDFC is able to disburse loan in less than 7 days , these 7 months inordinate delay resulted in monetory loss & mental tension to me .

Pathetic!!!

Mr. Kamath has just reinsured my belief that ICICI is not the best when it comes to employee and customers alike. The words "employees need to be squeezed" comes as a horrible shock.

If I were to rate ICICI based on this article, I would think its an organisation without any morals or ethics and the only things that matters is the top management.

Typical case of trumpet blowing, but Mr. Kamath look around, people close their ears tight while the trumpet blows.!

Look at realities of your products!

I used to attentively listen to eminent people like J.R.D.Tata, Mody and many such leaders in management and marketing etc., who had proved their excellence in those days without either M.B.A., M.C.A., etc., or any software and computer etc.,! Tata's group had more than one hundred companies that ran to great profit and efficiency to produce quality products!
Now we see leaders who dwell mostly upon soft ware in one pocket and M.B.A./M.C.A., in another pocket. Do they know quality of product they deliver in general? Yes, their management wind largely over so called " management techniques" which perhaps teach not to respond to customers and dispose customers with lame excuses but to extract maximum out of customers for crippled services rendered! Do they know they charge exorbitant rates for credits drawn on credit cards? Charges are more than marwari rates of interests that was almost wiped out by Congress Government. Customer relations are often so insulting and rude! Only few rich are healthy customers as the rest are middle class who are compelled to thrive on credit cards by paying hefty amounts. Perhaps, so called management institutes have cost customers heavily!

Its true. ICICI has very rude people. Where the attitude trickles down to, is easy to see. Though no doubt, Kamath is quite a talented CEO, his talk and method of writing is not like a leader would write. I mean, a high school student would be impressed by it, but someone who has read and seen enough leaders in action will know. anyway, the guy's trying to do his level best. any good deed is worth appreciating. Compliments Mr. kamath! on YOUR achievemnets!
