China and India will have to compete as both develop

Of course this will happen, and it should.
There has been job losses in the western countries due to outsourcing to India, but also the average salary for a computer programmer in the west continues to go up. Check the salary surveys put out by US trade organizations.
What does this mean? Obviously, US based programmers are moving up into ever more complicated jobs, and demanding (and getting) higher salaries - at least the ones that are really smart. If Indian programmers can do the same then they can justtify getting paid more.
With global competition you have to constantly develop your skills, or you will be left behind.
Indian IT companies are going to ruin IT industry in India

I think Indian IT companies are going to ruin IT industry in India by setting up huge development centres in China. Currently, the Indian IT companies are lured by cheap labour available in China. Just because salaries in India are rising doesn't mean that going to China is the solution. There also, in the forthcoming years the salaries of IT professionals are going to rise. Once China catches up in IT, India will no longer be able to maintain supremacy in IT. I think the Indian government should forbid Indian IT giants from setting up development centres in China. Otherwise, soon even Indian IT professionals will face the layoff heat which currently IT professionals in western countries are facing.

Nice thought rahul.
Of course, Govt cannot ban their entry into China as we are promoting free markets, though it could be in interest of Indian IT industry.
Recently, one of senior manager in Big 5 said that she was trying to induct a group of Chinese professionals into her company's history etc but she cut a blank. Big names like Infosys, Wipro, TCS hardly cuts any ice with them. If they join, it would simply be on account of 'Indian Software Industry' which is a brand by itself.
This is something to take note of - entry into chinese is not going to smooth unless they are prepared to change some of their values, policies and prepared to start 'afresh' without the brand advantage - how good are Indians in doing it?
Manufacturing Industries in India definitely have a edge in moving to China..

A lot of noise is being made about rising salaries of IT employees. So, in the future, for cost effectiveness more work would be 'outsourced'to China instead of India. So, only time will tell if this will ruin our market or not.
The Article based on Software Professionals Salary structure in China is totally baseless as Professionals with 1+ years of experience command 8 to 10 times more than declared salary in the article.
I discussed this issue with my chinese friends recently.I need to clarify that Chinese Market is more complicated than the Indian. Especially the Legal, the Patents, and the Financial aspects need to be dealt seriously. Anyhow let Indian Companies become Giant MNC and become one among top 25 Fortune 500 companies soon. By now IT Companies having fast learner employees and associates, have become smart enough to capture the world market. Prof. Dr. Ashish Urkude, Research Head, Symbiosis CMHRD, Pune.
I Think software gaints are in a race to grab the best chinese software professionals as soon as possible. But when it comes to Economic terms..these companies have to spend more than what they spend in India.Only future will tell how loyal these professionals will be with the respective companies.
Please check the accuracy of these statements. You do not get programmers at $135/month and project managers earn atleast $600 per month.
But that quality doesn't come cheap. Pande says that while entry-level Chinese programmers ($145 a month, inclusive of social security) are paid around the same as in India ($135 a month), project managers and senior staff are at least 10-12 per cent more expensive.
