So u r taking abt that Jadhavpur where the students were beaten by police recently for boycotting the exams and for that u were rediculed by the IIT Council ( the Apex body of IITs).. Such thing don't happen in Quality institutes... Jadhavpur is there in the list because of LEft parties pressure and not because of it's "Worth". Only IT-BHU and BEC are the deserving one's ..
Have man have u evere qualifies IIT-JEE.. No I am not talking abt Weat Bengal-JEE. There is the world of difference between the two JEEs.. U unqualified (I.e) will never understand what quality means ..

Jadavpur University to IIT ? The university where both professors and students bunk classes and love to go on strike frequently, where students are promoted and awarded 1st class with even no attendance in classes and failure in six papers out of nine. If JU is converted into IIT, that will create first NAXALITE IIT in the country. P K Choudhury Toronto
Of the Southern states, AP, Tamilnadu, Maharashtra and now Kerala are having/going to have IITs. Why there is no institution identified of the calibre of proposed new IITs In Karnataka.. and suitably accorded recognition for development and funding Higher Education in the State of Karnataka.
This is what is called politicking in Education.. About which the HRD minister (Cong) is good at it.. This should be left to academic council of IITs to decide upon expansion of IITs.. Govt should only be concerned with funding and broad functional guidlines/objectives.
