The upgradation of the 7 colleges to an IIT standard in most welcome. But one should take care that there would not be more IIT's, as we all know the global standard of prestigious IIT's. Consideration should also be given to Andhra Pradesh as most of the students clearing IIT-JEE entrance test ofcourse with the acquisition of standards set by committe.....
If BITS Pilani which is a deemed university of repute nationally and internationally can put up a campus with internal generation of funds and commercial borrowing at Goa which is called the BITS Pilani Goa Campus, what prevents these existing IITs with huge funds at their disposal and brains abundant for revenue generation from putting up their campuses elsewhere like say Mumbai IIT putting a campus in Baroda, IIT Chennai putting a campus in Madurai or say Hyderabad etc. When the going gets tough the tough gets going is not a saying but philosophy to be implemented like the way BITS Pilani did in putting its Goa Campus under its expansion plan and came with a BITSAT exam for quality admissions.
well actually.......where are these institutes coming from.apart from it bhu non has that calibre to be at equal reputation as iit.nits [atleast trichi,surathkal,warangal] are by far better
Roorkee University(1855),Bengal Engg.Collge,Sibpore(1856) and ITBHU(1911) are the only three pioneer engineering institutions in India and products from these institutes created all the IITs and leading engg.institutes in India.Even in the recent past Dr.Amitabha Ghosh a product of B.E.College,Sibpore and Director, IITKgp, made it the best IIT for four consecutive years. While Roorkee has been given due recognition, it is high time that BEC,Sibpore and ITBHU are given their worth for creation of finest institutes in India.
