There's no doubt that trade unions have helped to make what's today a better workplace. But things have changed; employers have realized the value of good skilled labour and have created better working conditions on thier own initiative. However, the unoins are still labouring under the delusion that only they can create better working conditions in all sectors. Yes, there are are still a few sectors where unions may be needed, but overall, lately militant unions have proved more a hinderance than help. They must learn to roll with the punches.
