Hi my name is Adil Kasmani, I am doing Bachelor in Mass Communication its a three year course if you need information about this do contact me at my email at adilmsk@rediffmail.com
Having done my Journalism from Pune, I never entered the field in Mumbai, just because of the limited options. Now, I think the right time has arrived, more the competition merrier the reporting is going to be... And I sincerely hope that the editors of yoe improve their spellchecks and incomplete stories ending in missing paras..
Sir, I welcome the new newspapers, but why Bombay Mirror ? Bombay has changed to MUMBAI years ago. We want to have MUMBAI MIRROR. Times group cannot go against people's sentiments & against law.

wHAT LAW? iTS CALLED choice, according to the press and newspaper registration of books act, as long as the name has not been used before.. it can be used. And for ur kind information... the change to Mumbai is just an administrative change. Dont assume you are talking for all of us, talk only for urself please. I personally think the change back to Mumbai is regressive and extremely chauvinistic. If it really wants to be a world class city it will need to lift itself over issues of name and must have a name that can be pronounced by most people. Else we wont really be different from the rest of chauvinistic Maharashtra. Please get your facts straight before typing on the key board.
Times of India really needs some competition. Purely congress newspapers, sometimes feel laughing while reading Times. And Ahmedabad Edition of Times, just Modi, Modi and Modi. No other news. How many times Modi drinks water and how many times he goes to .... is the talk of Times of India, Ahmedabad. Twisting every news of BJP and writes just like some congressman has written article. Bhaskar when entered Ahmedabad has considerably change the attitude of two established dailies. Previously, they were printing PRESS NOTES, but now afraid of competition, started giving news.
Thats a good news to us media students passing out of college. Starting a career won't be difficult. The Mumbai University's 3 year old Bachelor of Mass Media course has about 900 students taking the final exam this year, add the past 2 years, so there is man power ready for the war. The course has Journalism and Advertising as specialisations, so I am glad the Univ had to vision to start such a course. I can confidently say that we're pretty darn good. Plus there are a few other PG media courses in the country. Most of the good people who passed out in the last two years are now either doing that or their MBA's. This is going to be a lot of fun.
