Guha, I regret to say that you are brain dead. No other country is as united as India with large population, democracy, multiple languages and religions.
Dear Author for your surprise India will continue same unity. Sir, Your view is always political but they are not deviating any contitutional rulesmay be it less in providing security of people but better than any other country's unity. Because It contains more religions which are united when nation talk is came. Defenitely it will continue ever.
Ram Guha can not be an historian just by writing a book. People like him are cutting the roots of Hinduism and India as a nation. All Indians should talk/write with acute responsibility about hinduism and India. People like Guha are not historians but hateorian. How can a person like him write so irresponsibly? That is the problem caused by the freedom given by hinduism.
Inspite of India being very lucky in having a very extraordinary group of founding fathers and mothers, majority of the universities, colleges, roads, public offices, Central Govt. Schemes, programs are named ONLY after Indira Gandhi, Rajeev Gandhi, Sanjay Gandhi, J. N. Nehru, M. K. Gandhi only.

instead of taking this as an offence to the rest of the nation builders, I take it as a co-incidence and refuse to find discretionary meanings in it.

it is political- we have to accept it and live with it. the actual people who really aspired and worked for the good of the country must have been glad that they work they did did bear some fruits. I hope they didnt do so for recognition.
We are definitely not perfect. We have a long way to go. The check that one is healthy enough to tranform to a better India, is to be able to take on criticism and correct ourselves. Those idiots who shrink at the slightest criticism are the unhealthy lot not fit for transformation. These are the idiots who live in the world view that everything around them is perfect, hence incapable of transformation. This article points at our flaws let us take it as serious advice for the well being of the nation.
