That's the holy messaage ! I don't understand why people discuss Nehru and Jinnah today. We have 364 days to do that. We prefer to stay quiet then.

This is the day when we need to honour the sacrifices made by the martyrs, both sung and unsung, but more for the unsung ones.

We need to talk about this...

As we celebrate independance day today we need to remember this day in 1947. Far from the rosy picture we were brought up to believe it was a strife-torn nation burning everywhere with partition one of the worst human tragedy of modern times was thrust on Indians. Why did partition happen? We were made to believe it was british who through divide and rule policy divided us which led to partition. Well... was that really so? I dont know about it but what i would ask is why did patriotic leaders of this country Gandhi and Nehru let it happen. Why Satyagraha was not used to fight against partition.. who are these people to deny sindhis and punjabis there homeland.. who were these people to remove kyber pass and harappa mohenjodaro sites from the map of India. My knowledge of history says a political crisis between Jinnah and Nehru blew out of proposition and created partition. But then iam no historian so it could be debated. Still we must celebrate Independance coz i come from a state were a youth who did not know hindi or english yet strongly believed in India being a single entity and gave his life for it while saving the flag from falling down and getting torn in the stampede. It is for those who fell to Gen. Dyer's bullets. Yes this celebration is not for Gandhi or Nehru it is for the unknown freedom fighter who believed in India the nation before it became a single entity. Jai Hind for those unknown men because of whom I have the freedom to write this
