Looks like the lady had travelled to USA along with her husband or parents and settled there and is thinking big as she forgot the roots.Even her surname has been changed from Banerjee to Banerjea. It happens when you go somewhere where you never thought you will be going. For some people it is another place but for her US is heaven.Rediff should not allow such article to be published.
I wont comment on your Article, but I would like to ask a question to Ruby Banerjea that "Are you or your family safe in YOUR US?" Can you go outside to your house after 7-8 PM? You should think these points before posting your article Ruby Banerjea. All knows how Indians (Asian) live in US. I'm 100% sure you wud have been face (in future also u vil face) a lot of Problems like racism, humiliation etc but you wont describe those situations because now you are Americannnnnnnn!!!! "Indian to ban nahi saki, American kya banengi aap. Pehle Human baniye baad me jagah bache to Indian, American baniye."

Small towns/ suburbs in USA are very safe. You can go there and see for yourself. White Americans are not racists but very friendly. But you may get bad behaviours from Blacks or Latinos, but they do not live in the suburbs/small towns.

If the Americans start rebelling against Indians in US for the jobs that they are losing, these NRIs won%u2019t think twice before catching the first flight to return to India.
Tell the world, India has a great heart. Sometimes, she gets hurt or felt rubbed by the present world view and becomes angry. Nonetheless, she is happy on its own. Sujlam, Sufalam, Matram, Vande Matram
How come this shitty article makes headlines. I m unable to find a single reason for this. This Rediff is totally pot-shot. Who is the CEO of this f* site???

Mr Khemchandani please relax. You have rightly put your views and it should end with that. So please do not take things serious as otherwise you will go mad for others stupidity

Dear Mr Rajesh what you said is not right. It is Ok that you have taken the positives but to ordinary people like me this article itself should not have been published in the firts place. Do we need somebody, especially an NRI to tell us about our country. Probably the author of this article should try to leran from her daughter about India as she was reluctant to send her first to India.

Her daughter wanted to come to India, not for doing anything for India, but only because it would look good in her Resume.

Dear Mr IIT, no need to get worked up so much. Get a life. Or go solve some physics problems - that will make u happier. lol
Any one landing in India for the first time will surely feel the inconvienience, but it gives an example of the gooseberry which tastes bitter first and then sweet, once they know the real India they will comeback again and again or wish to settle here as here one lives a human life and not that of a robort, the impression one gets in other countries. We feel each and every movement of our life till its core in this nation called India.
Dear Ruby Banerjea, Are we to understand that there are no mosqitoes and monkeys in america?Does all of America have 24 hours running water?I really doubt that.
You live in NJ!! Come visit India and you will not want to go back to USA either. Not many in India are aware, but NJ is the butt of jokes in Hollywood movies and some towns like Jersey City there are shittier than the shittiest places in India. Atlantic city downtown is one of the scariest places and most of rural NJ is rednecky. Ppl from New York despise those from NJ. Do we sense a little hypocracy in this article with the assertion Indians are unaware of living conditions in USA??
Always remember that the extraordinary growth India has experienced over the years has been due to its culture, passion and enthusiasm of the young generation. Regarding safety I'll say that US is one of the leading "unsafe" countries to be in where thefts and murders have become common phenomena. India has billions of great things to offer, focus on its potential, rather than cribbing over mosquitoes and tin sheds. I feel proud to be an India. --- a BITSian and an IITian.

What was the point of mentioning "a BITSian and an IITian". You come across as a snob and stuck-up which I am sure you are not.
And as far as US being unsafe, they get more than 98% crimes reported unlike India where majority of the crimes do not even get reported which makes the number lower. So please, stop living in this "we are better than the world" misconception. Recognize that there are problems and fix them.
