OBC RICH & FEES HIKE AT IIT & IIM
by a_srinivasan80@rediffmail.com on Sep 12, 2008 05:35 AM  Permalink

IN INDIA THERE POOR EXSISTS IN ALL CATEGORIES. BUT THE OBC'S MAIN OCCUPATION IS AGRICULTURE. HOW MANY OF OBC'S ARE IN TOP POSTINGS IN OUR SCENTIFIC RESEARCH CENTRE,SOFTWARE COMPANIES. HOW MANY OF THEM IN JUDICIAL HIGH POSTINGS. THEY CAN BE COUNTED IN FINGER STEPS. APART FROM POLITICIANS, ALL OBC'S ARE POOR & NOT ABLE TO DREAM ABOUT IIIM & IIT. BUT THE RESERVATION WOULD HELP THEM. THE FEE HIKE WAS NOT DUE TO OBC'S ENTRY. ACTUALLY, IT IS DUE TO CORPORATE CULTURE OF THESE INSTITUTES. GOVERNMENT LOOKS THESE INSTITUTES AS MONEY CULTIVATING TREE. SO PEOPLE AWARE OF THESE. THE RICH CAN BUY ANYTHING IN THE WORLD.

IMM Fee Hike
by HariOm Chawla on May 23, 2008 01:23 PM  Permalink

I do not know why IMM fee hike is being made a big issue. The deserving students, once they get admission, won't be affected so much as they can always get long term loans from banks. What is difficult for them is to get admission in view of the less seats available due to reservations for OBCs.

These institutes mean quality and quality comes at a price. If they have to retain good faculty, they need to pay well too.

And ones passing these institutes are not working for peanuts. why crying? you are investing for your future.

What does IIM stands for?
by myfaq on May 21, 2008 11:09 PM  Permalink

From now on IIM should be called Indian Institute of Monkeys or Immature Institute of Management or Indian Institute of Mismanagement. Soon in future we will read that that IIM passouts were the lowest paying...

leading by example !
by Sandeep Mukherjee on May 21, 2008 06:13 PM  Permalink

a person who supports affirmative actions like caste based reservations to bring about "social equality" should first reserve some nights on which only OBCs and dalits will sc*ew this person's wife! lets say out of 365 nights, 27% to be reserved for OBCs ( leaving out the creamy layer) 22% for SC ST etc.. isnt that a good idea? setting noble personal examples? instead of imposing that "great sacrifice" on unwilling people like us?

reserved riches !
by Sandeep Mukherjee on May 21, 2008 06:05 PM  Permalink

do u know frienda that our great dalit leader .. the masiah of the downtrodden kumari mayavati behenji.. has been found to be the richest politician in india? her assets, cash and jewellery have been valued in this survey but obviously not the undeclared / hidden ones.. isnt that cute? and here u and i.. the bad upper caste people slog away for a living.. we pay taxes.. we finance the subsidies for "poor people" like km mayavati behenji! and if we agree that most dalits are actually downtrodden and poor then its all the more obscene for their leader to accumulate so much personal wealth without distributing anything to her followers... isnt it all a great charade ? all this nonsense about "social justice"? can u label people as per caste or should it be as per individual condition? should a stinking rich dalit like mayavati or a mega rich OBC like a yadav landlord from north bihar / eastern UP be considered for special treatment at the cost of a miserably poor brahmin cook or small temple priest from the same areas? and the same logic goes for so called "gender justice".. mayawati is a woman.. so r jayalalitha..mamata banerjee etc.. are they better individuals than some honest and decent male individual? or is it that there are good and bad in both genders? and someone cannot be given reservation or special benefits just coz of an entity called "gender"!

hike in IIT & IIM fees.
by kodali satyanarayana on May 21, 2008 05:46 PM  Permalink

The fee hike is may be due to the Faculty/facilities provided by those organisations and the pay pack getting by the students. It shall not be attributed as elimination of OBC or others. There are many rich in OBC. supreme Court also must have noticed and delivered qualified judgement. Not to creat unnecessary differences in the society. It is very unfortunate to talk about castes and religion for admissions after 60 years of independence. D.RAMACHANDRA

There is no need to discuss this issue of hike in IIM Fees
by shanmuga subramanian on May 21, 2008 05:45 PM  Permalink

According to a rediff reader ,only brilliant students are getting admitted in IIM's

Yes I agree
But how do they score top marks? by intensive training at coaching centres! and wasting 1-2 years....

Those who are getting admitted are artificial brilliant students and not naturally brilliant..
Think of a poor guy who after finishing his college decides to appear for CAT to get admitted into IIMs you need to get top marks so you need to get into coaching centres nowdays to score high marks

In First case ,Coaching centres would turn him away as he do n't have enough money with him to enroll in training institution ,ultimately he may fail to get the required marks for getting into IIM's

Before speaking about Fee hike in IIM there is whole need to change the entire process of CAT and structure of IIM's

All the students who are getting into IIM would be supported by their fathers who would earn atleast 2 lakhs per annum

This can't be solved by reservation or something else...

This has to be solved by creating Government coaching centres and aids for poor students who are in good in academics...

Next only the issue of Fee hike in IIM's come

Facilities
by Mihir Kamdar on May 21, 2008 05:25 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Guys, do you know that the IIMs assist all students in obtaining loans to fund their education at the IIMs. The paying back of the amount arises only after graduation. Also consider the fact that there are tax incentives given to students when they repay such loans. Everyone also needs to know that the IIMs declare that lack of funds would not be considered a barrier to admission at the IIMs.
Lastly, the packages that IIM students get after placements would be sufficient to repay the loans. One must also consider that the IIMS need funds regularly to ensure that they maintain the high standards of education and continue to remain the premier institutions for management courses in the country.

agreed,
but how many students who comes out from IIM are in india, they repay the amount is different, the technology and knowledge whatever u have taught is going to foreign soil, thats what matters.getting 50 lakhs per annum is one of the least CTC a fresh graduate from IIM is getting.
