We have divided ourselves into various sects and caste. This is the pure racism. How can we comment or complain about others when we ourselves are racist. How much of racist violence is happening in India, that too among Indians themselves. Why talk about America or any other place. first let us clean our own backyard. The Government and Supreme Court should ban all forms of differentiation among Indians be it according to region, religion or society.

Just would like to add: Rich Indians go abroad, call themselves NRI's and live and work like poor people. They are adding poverty to the countries abroad. Infact sometimes abroad when you say you are Indian the cashier refuses to accept money and says consider it as a donation to you poor people.
We are much-much-bigger in size and so our anamolies too.Better not compare INDIA with any one else......World should learn from India as an everending process.......India is Universe and Universe is INDIA.
We in India have a different form of Racism. There were many instances when people had asked me my last name just so that they could figure out what religion/caste I belonged to. Even in my family, many a times when I bring my friends home my parents secretly ask me what religion they belonged to.Not that they werent tolerant, but it gives them some kind of satisfaction if I have friends from my own caste. I guess its more of a pseudo 'comfort factor' that comes with knowing that one is somehow 'safe' being with one's own community. In an age where boundaries of nationality, gender, age and even sexuality is fast disappearing, I believe humanity is the only religion an individual and a society should believe in to make progress,or else 20 years from now we'll still be bickering about caste superiroty while the rest of the world turn into a scientific and literate society

I completely agree with you that we Indians harbour a different kind of racism, that erupts from a sense of vanity we suffer from. Look at the Indian Cricket team, the day we win any match, which happens to be more by chance than anything else, the next day we find sprawling on the newspapers a wide range of teasing and racist remarks on other teams. Grow up Indians! We are quick to react when Shipla Shetty gets teased by a British but what about the different crimes that Indians perpetrate and don't even spare the tourists who only add to our economy.
there is no country in the world including ours where discimination on basis of race, colour, sex etc. is not prevalent. The caste discrimination is worst form of discrimination. it should be our endevour to combat such discrimination evrywhere. It is true that USA alone is not guilty in this respect. we need to improve ourselves also.
