In India, there was a neighbours kid who practically grew up in our house. He had dinner at our place...we had cable TV (first in our street )..he would be watching TV and some days he would just fall asleep and we would tuck a pillow and cover him with a blanket.
The first day I was in the USA (Texas), I was advised by my cousin who received me to not to wander around into neighbors property or knock on the door. He said I have to take appointment before visiting them else I could get shot for trespassing.

Many Indian student who go to US do not mix with the society or tend to isolate themselves, or the socialize with other Indians only. Acutally there is no inter- intra presonnel relationship with other people of differnt nationlites, this tend to create a deep division within the students community.
Our students tend to look down on other student who are not par with them and expecailly for the Brahmin student there is spirit of competion which the white folks dont like. The Indians stduent try to put Zalra to thier professors, which irritates th other people.Indian student are bothered about others affairs white folks are not intersted.
Especailly people from Andhra pradesh do not have the basic desecny and they do not have any civic manners these could be the plausible reasons .

this is the pity with Indians. While it is needed to discourage the happenings in USA with Indians why to bring out andhra or tamil nadu . For hooligns whether IN USA or India, they don't discriminate whether the killed is from Andhra or Tamilnadu. In India North Indians blame south Indians and south Indians blame North Indians. Now this south Indian dharmasenan further discriminates the victim on the basis of andhra and generalises andhraites. Andhra is only the place where all south Indians especially tamilians or keralites live happily and andhras are more hospitable than any other south Indian state. Will dharmasenan be discriminated by hooligans in USA because he is not from andhra and on the basis that he is more descent, civic mannered etc? Real narrowmindedness.

ernest dharmasenan ,Your opinion is somewhat true. They stick their nose in other people's business. In the US , they say LIVE and LET LIVE.

Fully agree.. sometimes Indians do behave in a childish manner.. Too competitive for other students to feel comfortable about... Just imagine Indians would react if students from Bangladesh or Africa did the same in India.. In my observation, students who come to US need a primer in behaving and speaking in Western Society.. We are all deeply divided within and we tend to take teh same divisions in our mind when we go abroad and that partly explains why we ar so interested in others afairs... I wonder why there is no violence against the chinese ?? becasue they blend very well with others and are very helpful ( in my experience) as far as academics is concerned. Not like Indians who want to be unnecessarily competitive even with their fellow country men even when it is not needed... Most of Indians are insecure when they deal with others ...

Can U recollect how PM was sleepless when Dr Haneef was arrested in Australia. PM summoned Australian High command to bail him out. On the contrary 4 murders have note been noticed by Sonia Pm or our secular leaders and BJP is also silent . Had it been A MINORITY , oursECULAR Govt tv channels would have been flashing 'breaking news' thru the day and competing with one another to claim who broke the news first etc... Deve Gowda offered him a position the Ambedkar Medical College making him a National hero as if he had sacrificed fo the nation.. One does not understand the impulsive nature of our media and the Government
I lived in the Us for many years, mainly in the academia and therefore saw and felt the problems not as an onlooker but as someone who had empathy with this cause. About 70-8000 students go to US each year, many of them live in shanty apts called ghettos where economically poor sections live. In India hostels are provided everywhere, AICTE, UGC have formulated norms to follow, violation or enforcement is not our forte, however, in most universities, hostels are scanty and sometimes do not provide the vibrant ambience the students would like to have which also force them to live outside campuses. Housing is pretty expensive, so they are forced to live in socio-economically backward localities. US is a land of opportunities bla bla everything is fine but their infrastructure in higher seat of learning needs an abrupt overhauling. At any given day, politicians from Delhi to DC behave interestingly like mirror images. Yet, we score over them in terms of hostel facilities. No one can deny the intellectually-stimulating atmosphere the US universities offer or integrity and commitment of the faculties know no boundaries or barriers. Unfortunately, the violence in school campuses are also alarmingly on the rise, drugs are rampant, if US does cease to work for the ELEMINATION OF VIOLENCE IN THE CAMPUSES, it will be a global loss. Those modern day temples, THE US Universities WHICH GENERATED GREENSBERG AT THE SAME TIME EMBRACED BEATLES OR ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE can never cease to ex

Vignesh ,It is true. They didn't single out Indians. This is pure crime ,this has nothing to do with race or politics. Some people are trying to inject politics and race. PURE BS.
Well, why do Indian students go to US.Becos that country recognises merit and ones true worth.Financially they are better off.And future is almost guaranteed. But like all the good things in life,They face hurdles.US is the only country where you can buy a firearm from ashop and drug abuse is rampant. In short morality is in short supply.Indians who go to the US generaly concentrate on their studies and are targets of racial abuse and ridicule from their peers.Certainly some places in US have to be avoided at all costs since there is high incidence of poverty and Indians look comparitively better off.So basically avoid trouble spots like Black dominated `areas. And you have to decome streetsmart to survive in the US.And remember India is the best place to be.No place like home.

Boss, I don't know why you people take risk for developing there country. Do you think the guy who was killed would have returned to India after his studies. He would have saved the US people and will apply for a green card to permanently settle there.
one think is sure no place is safe except our motherland. Even if you die here, it is proud for you. So, guys something is better than nothing, money can be earned, but not life.

indeed. its surprising how people react to these type of news and say "oh. no place is safer than our india". Do those people even realize how dangerous it is to live in our country. They may no realize it, may be coz they got used to staying outta trouble's way or they were just lucky. News articles like these should not trouble any aspiring US immigrants. Just remember to stay outta trouble's way and us will treat u better than india does. Ofcourse, id recommend they return to india or atleast help our nation in some way :)
