TRUE! WHEN INDIANS ARE DISCRIMINATED AS NORTH INDIANS, BEHAREES etc AND TREATED AS FOREIGNERS IN maharastra as u say there is nothing wrong in the happenings in USA. It is the true Indian Psyche that they are not bothered as to what is happening to their Indians abroad because Indians themselves are divided on Caste, Region and Religion. God save us!

My dear friend , i would like to clear u fact that Srinivas was case of racism ... and the cases which u r saying were made by criminals , which we are also strongly oppose and we will not let them free to make such crime again and one more point dear friend ,unfortunately many peoples belonging from other countries and religions had also faced unhumanitic and criminal torture in america ,that doesnt means all the americans r racist........... and after veiwing ur thoughts it seems that u r more hypocrate than anybody else in this disscussion board ,At last i would like to say that dont make this discussion as racism battelfield be humanitic ,every human and every religion are equal and they all are GOD's son and daughters.....
lot of messages on board have been dealing with divide between north and south india. in this regard, important to consider seminal work by respected sir, dr. g.v.s srinicas, title is 'return of the native, study of societal divide in an anthropologically diverse country' essentially, respected professor is saying that because india has limited resources and very great population, it is only logical that people will group together according to differences per their genetic pools, in an attempt to compete for limited housing, jobs, money etc. dr. srinicas says that this phenomenon is especially prevalent in expatriate community when people from india will tend to stay in their respective gene pools rather than mingle with others, because they are maybe feeling threatened by caucasian peoples (whites). therefore, mallu will talk only to mallu, and punjabi only to punjabi. please read book for further details, it is available by penguin publishers in india
The mother of a 15-year-old British girl, who was found dead on a beach in Goa under mysterious circumstances, claimed she was murdered and demanded a re-investigation into the case.
"I don't trust Goa police and am frustrated the way they are delaying investigations in the death of my child," said Fiona Mackeown, who also accused the police of delaying the probe and doing a cover up. "Police have lied on all the evidences... My daughter died in a horrible way," Fiona said in a letter to the police.
Scarlette Eden Keeling was found dead on the Anjuna beach on February 18 following which police had registered a case of death due to drowning. She and her mother were on a holiday in India.
However, the family members pointing to the bruises and other marks of assault on Scarlette's body suspect foul play and wanted the murder angle to be probed. "The first autopsy report indicates 35 injury marks on Scarlette's body. Police is not doing anything despite glaring evidence," Vikram Varma, a family friend, said.
Varma claimed that there was ample evidence to confirm that the death was not due to drowning. "There was no water in her body. She was found above the high tide line. There are bruises on her body. Everything helps us to conclude that she was killed," he said.
Did we also forget Graham Staines and his 2 innocent kids Murdered in Orissa. Many foreign tourists are raped and murdered in India. I think India is worst in such crimes.

You are right, as the crime rate in increasing even in peaceful states like Goa. The crime rate has gone many fold especially after opening up of Konkan railway.
The problem lies with american culture.Unlike India, where children are taught to have tolerance, have respect for others, American just learn to have their way out.As a result, there violence is increasing among students, they are not only killing their Indian counterparts but fellow americans also. But the real cause of concern is how safe is an Indian aspiring to be a doctor, engineer or business guru, on american soil.
According to the latest reports, Srinivas did not die because of a gun shot wound to the head. It is said that he took his own life. Incidents involving college/university students do happen and once a while they include indians. The situation seems exacerbated because three of them happened within a short interval. Be aware of your sorroundings and take precautions when going about your everyday life and while you are home. Better to err on the safer side than be sorry. Take care.
US though a advanced country has been full fledge involved in hate crimes just like any other orthodox country.
Hate crimes are of several types: What is Hate Crime?
A criminal offense committed against a person or property which is motivated, in whole or in part, by the offender%u2019s bias against a race, religion, disability, ethnicity, national origin, or sexual-orientation.
The recent crimes against Indian students are fall into the following categories:
Racial Bias - A preformed negative opinion or attitude toward a group of persons who possess common physical characteristics, e.g., color of skin; eyes and/or hair; facial features; etc., genetically transmitted by descent and heredity which distinguish them as a distinct division of humankind, e.g., Asians, blacks, whites, etc.
Religious Bias - A preformed negative opinion or attitude toward a group of persons who share the same religious beliefs regarding the origin and purpose of the universe and the existence or nonexistence of a supreme being, e.g., Catholics, Jews, Protestants, atheists, etc.
Ethnicity/National Origin Bias - A preformed negative opinion or attitude toward agroup of persons of the same race or national origin who share common or similar traits, languages, customs, and traditions, e.g., Arabs, Hispanics, etc.
Seems America is loosing its sense of Freedom with the advent of extremism and fear of lossign jobs to outsiders.

India has already lost sense of freedom. It is already happening in India against indians in Maharashtra.
India is represented by her Embassy. They should have a watchdog and reporting system accessable to Indian Community. Many types of harrassment of Indian women by Indians living there and the Individuals staying in U.S. towards furtherance of their studies should have faith in the Embassy that there is the Government's extended arm to protect them in the event of a crisis. During the early part of the stay in U.S. is not that very comfortable. They struggle to manage themselves and take a decade or two to stand on their own. When they build further then only the Indian Government recognise them as Pravasis.

When government does not support/protect ordinary citizens in India then how can you expect them to support abroad.
