the idea sounds like fixing quotas in India on the ground of religion, money, status, class, creed and all that. the people under quota become majority now. days r going to come, poor men need to be given a special quota..
There is no necessity of womens day.the woman today is on equal footing and enjoys all privelleges that men get.except for some lower income groups where men drink and beat the womenfolk, otherwise a lot of men are harassed by women.they manipulate the laws to intimidate the men and gain advantage.
hehe what an absurd discussion topic. Why do people celebrate birth-day? Are they born every year? Btw we wont complain if men decide to celebrate Men's day.. so go ahead fix one..

Good one lady, can't agree more with your comment. But I think Sameer's suggestion is the best...celebrate humanity...
Now rediff will pick the most controversial of all these messages and post an article with them using a highly inflammatary title... Three cheers to rediff!!!

A lot of people will then check out the article spending an hour to find the contnt of the title in the messages posted...
One by one they will read all the messages...getting a distorted view of the ways of life!
In the end a few will complain abt this negative practice...a few emotionally charges fools will make more controversial remarks..and the debate begins all over again...
In the end...rediff will make money...we will waste our time...women's day will be celebrated with great pomp n show, with lakhs spent by the people eager to please the fairer sex.
Anyways...all of you remember to celebrate humanity...if at all there is a day for it...remember to cherish the fact that you are human!
it is absolutly a nonsense to celebrate a day as international women's day. they are eual before the law, equal before the society etc. etc. everywhare they enjoy previleges and men are ready to give these to women. then why a day is needed.

Ever wonder why so many cases of dowry are reported? Almost all of them are false. They are filed to blackmail. The unscrupulous wives filing false dowry cases use lie-and-cry policy to defame her husband and his family. The accused elerly, sisters and children bear the harassment from the legal system and finally to save his parents from going to jail in a false case, the husband agrees to pay the demanded money to his so-called wife.
98 out of 100 dowry Cases (498A) are false--says a study by Center for Social Research (CSR, an institution for women) Study
Statistics reveal that only two per cent of the cases of harassment filed by women are genuine.
This law is not being changed because vote politics is in play.

And how women are equal before the society? I am talking about India. Because not all but MOST of the families mourn over the birth of a girl child...if not they are killed just after the birth or killed before the birth..if born..treated as burden because they don't earn mostly and parents have to give dowry ..men cry over 98% false dowry cases but do not bother about most of the real dowry deaths that goes unreported. In buses, trains and all the public places..women are sexually harassed and the blame is on their outfit and I would rather say blame on them being women. In villages 40 yr men marry 15 yr young girls ..I know a case where the man had 3 wives ..he used to cut their body with blade and have sex with prostitutes in front of them..I know another women whose husband chopped off her right and right leg ..I know many women whose husbands have married twice thrice without the thing called divorce..I know women who have been married to mentally disabled men and theycontinue living with them for their whole life..I know a man who left his wife because she had developed ulcer in mouth and he thought that it was mouth cancer. I know a woman who can't leave her husband who is sufuring from MDRTB...the most communicable kind of Tuberculosis. Now she is also the patient of MDRTB and can die anytime...this list is endless....I can go on writing. Finally..I am not in favour of celebrating women's day..because a women's day every year or a woman president can't do anything ab

The truth is that men's issues are never highlighted and women's issues alone are taken up. want equality where it suits them. Heard of any woman sentenced to death? Even in my school and college, girl students used to get lighter punishment when they did something wrong. They used to get it because they are women. Is that equality? Do you know the fact that most cases of dowry are false. Do you know that Indian legal system treats women as "Abla Naris" or innocent women and believes that women cannot commit crimes. Do you that section 497 related to adultery, a woman cannot be punished if she commits adultery. Do you know that if you file a case against a woman, the police can at best lodge a non-cognisable offense against that lady where as, if she files a case against you, they have to compulsorily lodge a cognisable, compoundable and non-bailable case against you. Do you know that we men are facing a lot of discrimination?

Just to complete My post
Finally..I am not in favour of celebrating women's day..because a women's day every year or a woman president can't do anything about the plight of women in India. The laws in India are quite fair to women theoritically but the society STINKS!!!!

The laws also stinks and so does the society. The laws are totally against men and treat men as CRIMINALS and women as ANGELS
