Same holds here too..
Women have come a long way..but way to go.. :)

Hi friends there nothing wrong in celebrating womens day.But its wrong to argue that womens were not in this world then the mens would not be also here, we are here because of females.Male n females who is import is baseless argument. Everybody is equal n no one can exist in the absense of other.negatives r with men n women both we should try to remove all these negatives for better life.
Happy Womens Day

Ms, Gaurav Kanchan Maheswari,

I am accepting the celebration of Womens Day. But I am not accepting the fact that without Female there is no male..There is the same in case with male there no female..Both are required for the life..

Hi there, the media today are just concubines of the capitalists. They have no other role. Particularly, the US is taken as an ideal. The US society has always been pro-capitalist, pro-secular, pro-democratic and pro-feminist. So our media will continue. The fault lies not in Rediff, but with online surfers like you and me who keep watching this website like addicts instead of focussing on more worthwhile things in life. So get some life and stop visiting Rediff. When their hits will reduce, they will automatically understand.

it's just your illusion that every day is men's day. every day is women's day unofficially, but march 8 is the official women's day. In this feminist world men lost the freedom opposing what ever women do. If you do so against whims of women they will call you as M.C.P. But they will bash men in the news papers and every where, if you ask they will say men are harassing women, if so, blame that men, or punish them, why they are stereo typing all men.

Equality in its correct Meaning...
by on Mar 03, 2008 09:11 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Celebrations should be all around...
Any reason should not stop anyone from celebrating anything in life...
You ask, should we celebrate Women's Day?
I say, Yes! Why not?

Now coming to the issue of equality, we should also celebrate an International Men's Day (19th November)!
There comes the equality!!!

If women are men's equals, why is Women's Day celebrated?

What's wrong with this page? One can't post a message. If one posts a repy it shows up as abuse.

pro-feminist, that's the problem. That's why i told there is no freedom for men to express their feelings freely. If you do so, your message automatically removed by program.

Women's day - Indeed a must
by Yogesh Kini on Mar 03, 2008 08:40 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

One must be born as a woman to understand a woman...Who is giving birth - its the woman, who is taking care of the child - its the woman, who is changing her residence, venturing out with another unknown person for settling down in life - its the woman, who is bearing all the pain & suffering in today's world - its the woman, did you ever hear of a man getting molested , but you must have definately heard of the woman getting molested - what for, is it because of her structural being , should not be right..

What is her fault - what if she is trying to compete with man today , why should she be discriminated only because of a gender difference...

Salutations to the woman - who is either a wife, mother, sister, aunt, guardian or in any other form !!

Woman's day is a must - I am a man who is writing this and we need to understand & respect a woman's feelings !!

Well as per statistics 68% of rapists and women abusers talk very sweet about women ans mostly lies to get something.

Why salutations to only women? Why not to my brother and father as well? Why this bias to the extent that it is detrimental to the entire society?

Just look at what is happening to dowry laws. Out of every 100 cases 98% are proven false in criminal courts after a thorough investigation of 10 years. Almost 80,000 false cases are filed every year and more than 2 lakh innocents are jailed wrongly. Because of false complaint of one criminal woman, 2 women at-least end up in jail.

I am myself a victim of this false dowry case due to my sister in law who was having an affir with her boss in accenture, hyderabad. But MY family is running in courts for last 4 years. How would you feel if it was your family which is going through this abuse?

Just type 498a on google and spend 5 minutes to see the truth.

Till such time one does not understand the feelings of the other gender, have no respect for individuality whether it is women or men, we should not generalise...

THere are a few stray cases but still the fact remains that we are in this world because of females which we should not ignore. THey bear all the hardships etc

Hats off to them - we need to indeed have a Woman's day

The problem is that most of what you have said is a vague generalization and still calling them as "facts". Both men and women are needed to bring people into world. How can you say that anyone is on the world due to women alone? I am woman but I think such an attitude is not good for society at large.

Yes hats off to women like us and hats off to husbands and our brothers as well.

The problem is evident right here on this message forum. When a wife files divorce and 498a they are called losers (on this very message forum) but when a man files divorce it is called "poor woman". It might have made sense in the previous century. But in the current context where women are given reservation either in education, jobs of promotions they are clearly at a better position and it is not right to discriminate anyone based on gender. We must inculcate an attitude to look at the crime per se rather than the person. After my own family was implicated in false dowry case I have been running an NGO to help others and so many victims are men and his sisters and mothers.

Have you spend even 2 minutes to do independent investigation at-least online about this abuse? Maybe once you see the reality you will change your biased attitude.

Regards,
Swathie
