it a non bailable offence. The law should be made stronger and the punishment so severe, that pepole should be afraid to touch a vehicle in an inebriated condition.

We indians
by krishnendu mukherjee on Jun 16, 2008 08:08 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Many indians say rules are ment to be broken. Actually this is just anather way to support their careless attitude towards the nation. We blame politicians, businessman, famous personalities but when it come to self assessment, we indians always draw a fake helpless potrait of ourselves. As if we are the most oppressed, suppressed helpless individuals. But the fact is that our love and responsibility to the nation lies only in our words and advice. Our patriotism sores when there is an india-pakistan match or when JP Dutta makes a "Border". but in real sense we give a dam to the nation. whether it is keeping our country free of pollution or it is about maintaining traffic rules. we know several excuses to break them.

Well said, but not all indians are like that. You could say 40% are like that, and the remaining 30% become like that after watching them and the remaining 30% stay fine :-)

Thats because the LAW outside India(anywhere in the world, other than ASIA) is sensible. Read the constitution once you will understand why WE Indians dont respect the LAW. The constitution is a confussed book of copied material from across the world placed in direct contrast to itself. If we really start respecting the law, EVERY indian will be behind bars for either helping a accident case, and also for not helping a accident case! :-) Best wishes.

Drink & Drive = Attempt to Murder
Red Light Jump = Attempt to Murder
DRive in wrong lane = Attempt to Murder

Illegal Parking, Zebra cross violation, cross yellow line etc etc = Fine the driver/owner 10% of the value of the car that he is driving and give 10% of that fine to the traffic cop who catches him.....cop gets incentive for a 400k car...fine amt is 40000/- ( now that a deterrent) adn cop gets 4000/- will he accept a bribe for 500/-( white money) why will he not do his job.

Interesting! I think when someone had met an accident and if you can help there is nothing wrong to help the needy. This is humanity and how come it is crime ? I do not understand !

by vishal vyas on Jun 16, 2008 06:12 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Due to sharp rise in oil prices last week.. people are so upset & depressed that they indulge in drinking & driving....
Govt should seriously think over this. this is the real reason behind all the mishaps..

Baap .. Pehle Aap
by BG on Jun 16, 2008 06:09 PM  Permalink

These guys learn from the parents who do not teach to respect law ... as they themselves are not aware. Everybody in India feels that they can easily get away by breaking any law .. I am sure the parents of these guys rather then accepting mistake .. would be busy finding ways to twist the law & save their child which in turn will provide more confidence to these guy to break law in future.

Drunken driving
by Kanniappan Kanniappan on Jun 16, 2008 06:08 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Hi,
Selling Alcohol should be strictly banned.
All the wine shops should be closed.
Politicians are the causes for opening wine shops for revenues for the govt and also for their party cadred to thrive.
Arranging for 'BANQUET' by the rich and educated gatherings should be stopped.
Punishment should be very severe if found driving with influence of alcohol.

Insurance companies are sleeping ?
by BG on Jun 16, 2008 05:59 PM  Permalink

What are insurance companies doing ? are they sleeping & paying for such negligent drivers .. they need to tighten the screws on government in order to make the procedure of acquiring the driving licenses more stringent. Anybody can get license without even giving test or learning driving rules & regulation. We have threats from everywhere .. Daytime Huji, Simi & night time from now .. Drunken drivers ..

Wrong
by Surender Sharma on Jun 16, 2008 05:58 PM  Permalink

Parents to be blamed. After all what these young kids were doing at 2.30 am. The parents should have known that their kids are out till 2.30 am and tracking their movements would have saved some lives.
