There is good parking facility in all bars.
If you want people to stop drink and drive then ban parking facility in bars, let all come by walk or by bus or arrange home delevery!!!!

How is that!!!!!

Now this is a constructive idea.. good one. Also bars/pubs/nightclubs and local police must setup mobile traps to catch the culprits.

Drunk driving
by Mona Shah on Jun 17, 2008 11:05 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

I think jail term or such punishment is not the solution for the problem. Education & training of the culprits regarding costs of their actions on the victims lives should be conveyed tho them without any jail term as such. This, in my opinion, is the true solution for drunk driving problem.

Spoilt sons of rich
by Junglee on Jun 17, 2008 10:57 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

All these youth who are drunk and drive are primarily spoilt kids of rich parent who do not teach value of life to their children. All these sons and daughters takes life for granted and are able to do whatever pleases them, whetehr illegal or criminal. They know very well that their parents have clout to insulate them from law enforcement. They are all law unto themselves. Who cares for innocents life?

Yes, This is the crux of the problem. The kids of influencial people are a big problem everywhere. I think Indian law should incorporate elements of Sharia law. An eye for an eye is the best law in the world.

Implementation
by mufaddal saifuddin on Jun 17, 2008 10:55 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Its not about setting rules, its about enforcing them to proper effect. Drunken drivers should get their licences cancelled and a heavy fine or imprisonment should be enforced to curb this menace.

law is fine implementation is wrong
by Priyavrat Bhatt on Jun 17, 2008 10:54 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

I am no Law student but whatever laws we have should act as a deterrent if they are implemented firmly. Here law at the road is sold at Rs 50 and if you have that money u can get away with any crime on road.
Imagine if a a normal working man who drinks and drives see examples where someone is actually put behind bars for two years will he dare to commit a mistake? Two years is a big time, a student speding two years behind the bar, a working executive with moderate income and small kids can never think of going behind bars..forget about 2 years, even two months are sufficient for detterence all people need to see is examples where someone is actually punished and I for one has not seen any single case in news where the law was implemented efficiently. If peopl go away by themeans of the money that is a failure of our law enforcement agencies and they will just pass teh buck from one department to other. The system needs an overall uplift with good coordination among various agencies.
No parent want their kids to die at such a young age and they will start imparting the decipline once they too see that how tough and strict the law is.
God bless my country, seems only dua is left, as teh patient has refused to take the dawa.
