Man he did say that this is outrageous. He also gave the side effect for the same. So just dont crib at wat has been written. He has mentioned some very sensible ways of cutting costs. Concentrate on that. The last few points are just for fun. Take it in the right spirit. Dont just start criticising people at the drop of a hat

Consume Less
by ashok advani on Jun 09, 2008 06:11 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

I think Mr.George Bush is right ,
We Indian are consuming too much
We need to reduce our consumption and also control on our expenditure
Like Watching Movies in theaters, dinning outside
Travelling in cars,
Not using Public Transport
etc..

Thanks Rakesh, i will try to implement at least 3/4 thing what you suggested.

Regards

its only because nowadays we people (many of us) want to have showoff that's why. If the neighbour is going in Maruti, I will also prefer the same. If he is dining outside, then I will also... with such tendency it is difficult to control everything

When the BJP was in power the crude oil at international market was about $24 per barrel and the petrol was selling at about Rs.40 to Rs.44/-. Now the crude oil is at $130 per barrel and the petrol cost is Rs.55/-. Which government is better?

" When the BJP was in power thecrude oil at international market was... "

Clearly crude oil prices are outside the control of any party be it Cong or BJP..then why blame Cong? ..as all of us know this is the direct consequence of the war waged by US on Iraq..I feel if the BJP were in power now..we wud 've suffered still worse..atleast COng govt in AP has eased the burden of gas prices..

Oh u mean the congress is also controlling the inflation levels in other coutries, as well as controlling the rise in oil prices? Man if that is true then I think India is the most powerful nation in the world. hahah... think before u write something. its got nothing to do with one particular political party. Dont forget that it was during the congress regim that the sensex rose from 4000 odd to 20000 odd. Am not trying to support the congress, but lets not criticize a party just becoz u dont like it.

RE:Never Ever cut cost
by ashok advani on Jun 09, 2008 06:07 PM  Permalink
Hi, Rakesh

I don't agree on your logic, 10 yrs before i was earning Rs.2750 per month today i am earning Rs.40000 per month , i always thought that by earning more i can full fill all my needs, but i was wrong,

It is not how much you earn,
It is how much percent you save out of that
Try doing it save 30% every month in 5 year you will really have good amount money
my blessing with you ,
-Be happy

Guys

Try to do a freelance job or part time job (2-3 hours daily) and earn some 3-4K extra. When liquor prices goes up, nobody is worred, when cigarettes go up, no problem. when vegeables and petrol goes up.. oh inflation... sonia ki.. manmohan ki... this is India.. sheer politics

Tax heavily
by Hindustani on Jun 09, 2008 03:15 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Tax havily on cars/private vehicles.
Say... if the vehicle cost is less than 1L, 15% tax.
1L to 2L, 50%
2L to 3L 100%
3L to 5L 200%
5L and above 300%..
Utilize that tax to provide good infrastructure (roads, drinking water etc...) and improve public transportation drastically, so that even with the current population growth rate afer 100 years, it should work.
Use strict measures of population control irrespective any sects. Otherwise, whole India will run short of food also... and we should completely dependant on food from imports.

Bhai,

Our India is already in mess. Of someone plans for a pipleline, they have to get approval from a 1000 authorities. Roads? A 10km will take 1 year to make after getting clearance from all area. So do you think its easy go bring drinking water and infrastructure in a year or two?

Commie nonsense
by IndianShadesOfTruth on Jun 09, 2008 03:11 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Dont use a car!! What century are you living in!! I pay 34% direct taxes and probably another 16% indirect ones (tax on all items I buy or use). Having paid 50% on taxes for what I do, I dont need another commie bug to preach to me as to when I should party and whether I should go to a mall or not. I live life in today and for myself. I pity the existence of people who dont live life for themselves and get swayed by this useless propaganda of having to give up what they want or like. If you feel like this, IMHO please jump in the river. Your life is not worth it anyway.

How to cut costs: Yap less, eat less
by drunken monk on Jun 09, 2008 03:04 PM  Permalink

" Oil at $137 per barrel; dollar at Rs 43 apiece; the Sensex down sharply from its 21k high; real estate prices going up; home loan interest rates moving up; inflation at 44-week high. Are you already cringing with fear? "

Employers know all these and still they will give peanuts for the employees as a package or hike and expect to work up to their expectation.

God save employed.
