I have written to TRAI in the past, who advised me to contact my service provider Reliance (customer service to begin with, then nodal officer and if the problem not resolved, their appellate authority). TRAI also advised me to go to Consumer Forum if I am not satisfied with the action by Reliance - P. Muraleedharan
In last few month I am also facing the same problem on My Two CDMA Mobiles CDMA. After making so many calls to customer care. I did,'t get any positive response from the service provider also my money is not refunded.

The appellate officer , thereafter, readily agreed to treat my email as request for discontinuation and closed the chapter. There was no word about excess billing I had paid thro credit card to them. I could further escalate it. But I had had enough (This is where service providers stand to gain, though unlawfully). At least they stopped charging me further.

Rediff. hand in gloves with big fishes of mobile service providers - The original message which had nothing obscene, nothing abusive was removed by rediff. Why do yo ask people to post messages if you conveniently shun those messages which are inconvenient truths for some business house which has business relations with you. Stop this double standard.
Why you people are crying now, all of you have asked/wanted private operators now face the music. Worst has not come yet it is comming. All of you want young generation politician, same will happen .
The problem with Airtel is that the voice quality is pathetic, network is always clogged, there is huge amount of call drops, so i really wonder what they keep advertising about ? You write hundreds of mails to them, visit their customer care center, but it does not make any difference to them, they are just so ignorant !! Worse then Airtel is Reliance, you take up a connection, use it, dont find it satisfactory and want to surrender it ?? that where the trouble starts. First, they will never process your request, second if you ask them to give a clearance letter while making the final payment they will never give you one. After all the follow up you have to do with them for the dis connection they will finally send you a legal notice for the amount payable till date. The govn is not bothered and neither is TRAI which is the governing body as they get their fat packets on a monthly basis from these big business houses. Fact of the matter remains that consumers ie we are the biggest fools who try to find a good service provider in one of them. How's Vodaphone doing though, they say they are 'happy to help'
