Forget perks and Fringe benefits.Nowdays employers don't even pay salaries to their employees properly. There are lot of miscalculations done purposely in the salary slip. God knows whether they deposit the PF or not. No employee even dare to raise voice. they are threatened or asked to leave if they do notlike. Employees are treated as personal slaves who can dance to their tunes.

GAP between policies and implementation
by on Jan 21, 2008 10:42 AM  Permalink

Most Indian managers have a mindset to hold back the perks. While it is common in the West to take an annual Holiday, how many of you have been granted a 7-day leave in a year without "haggling". It is a common practice to sanction 5-day leave on paper (mandated by Income Tax dept) to avail LTC.

MNCs promise you the moon to get you on board. As soon as the project ends, you are thrown into the gutter. Accenture is only an example. Let us see what happens this year if there is a recession in the US

Perk is Indian IT Industry is extra money or facilities calculated with in your salary(current CTC) it should be corrected.
by mahesh lakshminarayan on Jan 15, 2008 12:29 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

One thing every one should understand, not all the company gives perk.In Indian IT Companys and many IT Companies in India an employess perk is calculated from his salary itself so in his CTC some part is given as Perk(if Cash) or as Facilities.Birthday Partys Charged,Dont Know about Creech Support to Employess in some companies as these are all shown as charged benifits. Now lets see the Corporate level Perks for Managers. The People who own their Accounts gets High Salary,Benifits due to briging buisness and running it successfully there parameters are different. The Mid Level Paid Less-Benifit Less(Any benifit given apart from CTC will be also deducted accordingly). The Low Level(Programmers) Paid Very Less and Very Less Benifit(Any benifit given apart from CTC will be also deducted accordingly). In India a Regular IT Employee from Fresher to Experienced if he works continously in the Same Firm from One Level to Other and to Receive all highest perks properly it will take him 41 age of his also years. In Abroad Companies its not like that-specially GE,Dell,GM,Microsoft,Google they are proper. There Perk Means Something apart from your CTC.In India Citi,ABN-AMBRO,Dutch Bank have good name of giving perks.Others just use the Name.In IT there is not much of those jargons and you know the reality there "nothing is free in the world".If you see the bus, food, facilitys all are charged for their employees salary(CTC).After seeing that i am sure you will tell your domain and companies are

Have been inthe industry fo rso long. Have never heard of many things listed here except for company cars, birthday celebrations. Maybe it is still happening but only in selected few companies for very selected few individuals and is not applicable to rest of 99.99 % junta employees
