Be there without hurting other sentiments
by Raghavendra Raichur on Jan 08, 2008 05:40 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Dear frd ur subject was good to current scenarios where many veg Indians traveling around the world & they will face situation like they will not get a single veg stuffs then will leave happily by having the fruits & drinking juices. Thank god, they still remain vegn even for such horrible conditions. Non-vegn even they can't be non-veg in countries like China, South Korea where they eat the live mammals. None of my Indian frd had that. Instead they preferred to go for only boiled beans with veg guys. It tells that non-vegetarians can%u2019t be always non-vegetarian. So the outcome of your debate on this subject is wrong.

Justifying killing of animals
by HS girish on Jan 08, 2008 05:35 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Killing musquito does not make a veggie a sinner because it is invoulantary and one does not kill it until bitten. So don%u2019t try to justify killing of innocent animals when you have subsitutes. You would have killed your consience and hence you cannot realize that what you are claiming veggies have missed because we have our consience awake and living. You are sensitive to rights of other specis to live and stop being proud about that when you should be ashamed. It is this attitude that people become insensitvie to cruelity on others and inflict harm more easily.

And has anyone ever seen a vegetarian eating the mosquito he has involuntarily killed?

I agree with the views...eating for mere pleasure of eating and not thinking about anything else makes us look like australian cricketers who play only for winning and not for anything else.

eating non veg
by Ashok Sampat on Jan 08, 2008 05:26 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

things which smells so bad while they are in raw material stage, how people are eating such things i can't follow. smells of dry fish (bombil), raw fish or fried fish can one stand there without saying "SHEE". tempo carrying chicken- can anyone stand near that tempo for more than 2 minutes? trucks carrying mutton of big animal smells how after going only few metres from you? it is lame excuse that if we donot eat non veg creatures will increase by few million. birds and animals are having all 5 senses which man is having so cutting birds and animals is as equal as cutting human being. DO NOT MAKE YOUR STOMACH GRAVEYARD OF BIRDS AND ANIMALS

Dear Der

i eat non veg. But dont justify eating beef or Non Veg. It depends on pesonal choice . Even studies have show that people who eat vegeteria have longer lifes as compared to Non Vegeterians.
Even people from West are going for Vegeterian food. think if you would be cow in your next birth and you will cut just to satisy the taste of person like you.

Self-righteous obstinate vegetarian. How some people can eat palak, methi, karela, etc...and some more bhajis when men and women sit down do things (both solid & fluid) beside them...I can follow.

You are right. But I think that thing is absorbed by the soil and work as postum (not sure about spelling). However, how can one eat that thing which in itself contains the shit (A living thing invariably produces the shit in its body and that does not get wiped off if it is killed).

Australians are better?
by b on Jan 08, 2008 05:08 PM  Permalink

Authors seems to find amusement in Not-so-strange things. I wonder what he would say when he visits other parts of India? Dry, tasteless Roti,Chappathi.
I would say australians are far better in their discrimination against short, yellow indians.

by prankyt on Jan 08, 2008 05:00 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Why cant veggies and non veggies be what there , without complaining? you eat your meat while I eat my greens, why cant we co exist without issues?
Why cant the non veggies understand when somebody whose has never eaten non veg feels uncomfortable eating with him?

good point and when we say that we would have more protiens etc. from non veg we are misleading because there is an absorption capacity of the body which does take the amount of protiens etc. provided by the non veg food.
