Yes prices are high. But for your kind information, I have never heard of Evian Water. Heard Bisleri Water bottles, Aquafina, Oxyrich etc. They cost around 15 Rs per Litre. So I don't know from where is this person quoting this brand and price. Unless he paid that much in a 5 star Hotel. And if he quoting that price, then he is Stupid.
As for Prices, If he thinks Price of Water is costlier in India only, He needs to come to terms with reality. In Gulf regions, A litre of Water costs 50 Rupees, Whereas Petrol costs 10 rupees per litre and Cold drinks cost around 55 rupees per litre. . The article title generated interest. But the Quotations and price tag given is really Misleading.
It's like telling People Cars are cheaper then Bicycles. Because you can get a Maruti 800 for 1.2 lacs, whereas BMW mountain Bicycles cost around 3 lacs also ! Really Utter Madness.
The Writer is trying to connect with the common citizen who is agrieved at the high rates, but is really misleading them by manipulating the Data. This is very bad Journalism.

Yes you are very right with your comments. Thank God he has compared all that in Liters and has not quoted the difference in Tons, some guys are sure to faint had he done that.I wonder who buys a Liter of Cough Syrup??Got to be real over the wal to do that. Stmehta
Hello Sir, A nice article but still RUBBISH. Ideally you should have also compared the consumption consumption of the liquids by every individual per day and then think about the size of the HOLE in the Wallet. The consumption of most of the liquids mentioned in the long and useless list above is milli litres. So bottom line is Petrol Prices do drain away the pockets, though we cant help it because its still @ subsidized rates.
Good remarks required at this juncture. Everyone is feeling the pinch of price rise in recent months. But our FM/PM are only for sucking the blood of the tax payers, as they are highly afraid of co-politicians and govt. servants. FM/PM both have put service tax 12.5% on all services thus making them costly during their tenure, similarly maximum hike due to govt. governed hikes only.

and the response some-one gave was "if you think petrol was cheaper than cough syrup then why dont you drink pertol. stop comparing oranges and apples"
I could not find any better title. Jisne bhi likha hai usko mera shat shat pranam. Kehaan ho maharaj!!!! Darshan do, hamein dhanya karo!!! Mera jiwan safal ho jaayega.
Ek liter Pantene main doonga tumko, subah subah aloo ke parathe banane ke liye. Aur makkhan ki jegah par Kores Whiteout daal lena. Ch@@tiye!!!!
stupid aritcle.. stupid title.. stupid author.. stupid rediff.. hasnt he/she learnt a very simple lesson that one cannot compare apples and oranges.. how can one even put a litre of water and a litre of printer ink on the same scale.. and by the way as far as i know.. india is still one of the few more developed countries where a significant price difference still exists between water and cola.. the whole article is pointless

very true..is he consuming 5 L of aftershave everday as he does 5 L of water (even if you go for packaged drinking water @10 per Litre)..or does he put 30 L of printer ink in his car ? there is humour and sarcasm and then there is stupidity, beyond logic..
