Where is ISB?
by sachin on Sep 17, 2007 12:59 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

I dont see a mention of ISB anywhere in this survey. It is a known fact that it is among the best and still it doesnt figure in this survey means this survey was a crappy one..

what is best about them?
by Prof. R K Gupta on Sep 15, 2007 10:19 AM  Permalink

The survey does not bring out the qialitative and achievement aspects of such Institutes whose contribution to knowledge pool and solving society and business problems is pathetic.Their only on epoint program is placement. Are they Schools or recrutiment centres?
All this madness must stop.Industries should stop giving them unnecessary 'bhav'and scout for talent in other places too as lot of right talent at moderate salries is available. This system of surveys and ranking might have inspired a very few institutes to improve but the surveys are largely farce and irelevant.

hey shri
will give u a thumb rule. in India stick to the gov instis for education i.e. IIM, NITIE,IIFT,MDI
Amongst private instis only SPJain, ISB and XLRI are worth their salt.
Others will always get good rankings as they have media planning budgets in crores but are not accepted by the alumnus of top instis and therefore the industry. Symbi, ICFAI, NMIMS, IIPM belong to that category.
Hope this helps

NITIE Ranking
by on Sep 13, 2007 01:03 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

I think NITIE should be ranked higher as it is getting converted into IIM-Mumbai.
Wat do you say fellows?
Remove NMIMS from the rankings
Get IIM-K in

Symbiosis is CRAP.
Dont waste your time and money there.
You will be shocked at the quality of its alumni and what employers think about them.

B school rankings!
by anirban sarkar on Sep 13, 2007 12:23 PM  Permalink

Hi interestingly this B-school ranking
has become a fad every year!
I would like every body to have a look at the
sample size for the survey! over 80000 candidates take CAT every year, the sample size for this survey is only around 500! restricted
only to a few cities.
So please let us not fight over rankings!
It is the individual that matters:)

Humbug!!
by mpc on Sep 13, 2007 11:43 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

All these ratings are a humbug. Everyone knows where to go. IIMA followed by C & B. These are the ones that give you the best placements. IIML & I are just carrying the tag of IIM. One very underrated IIM is IIMK. You will soon find it joining the league of A, B & C. Rest is all bakwaas.

IIM-K is a grear insti but will never catch up with A,B and C as it is isloated in location
i'll put my money on NITIE rather ... the to-b IIM-Mumbai

NMIMS Guju Quota sucks
by ABC on Sep 13, 2007 09:41 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

I think that two of JBIMS, IIT Mumbai and IIM Kozhikode deserve a place in the top 10.

NITIE and NMIMS do not deserve a place in top 10.

NMIMS actually asks you whether you are a Gujarati or not in the application form.
Also, NMIMS form comes for Rs 1300 and GD/PI costs Rs 1000 more.

RE:NMIMS Guju Quota sucks
by anirban sarkar on Sep 13, 2007 12:31 PM  Permalink

NMIMS has no gujju quota! Govt of India wants 50% of all seats in IIM-IITs to be reserved, in FMS quota is still more! Now there is a proposal of exit tax from students passing out of premier institutes!
So do not get bothered by these issues! They keep coming and going.
Work hard and do well!

NMIMS sucks for sure with Gujju quota. However i disagree with NITIE as it is a centre of excellence and most of the top management in India is from NITIE

Do not bluff without knowing the reality. There is no quota for Gujjus at NMIMS. Pls do not mislead people. All deserving people have a place at NMIMS. The process is highly transparent.
