My Father moulded our life
by chandru se kar on Jun 16, 2007 07:38 PM  Permalink

Hello Everybody,

Let me start with thanks to rediff for giving me a chance to tell you all, about my father. Many times I thought of expressing my feelings about my father to somebody, but I never got chance to do so.

We were living in a town named Arakkonam, 60 km away from Chennai. My father was a temple archagar and my mother was a house wife. We were not a well off family. My father was doing temple pooja, for which he was given Rs. 300/- per month as salary in a temple and Rs. 250/- in another two temples, apart from what the devotees gives. We were living in a house for which we paid Rs. 350/- as rent. My father used to do pooja for 'Grahapravesam' and 'marriages', this helped him in running the family with extra income and also with grocery items like rice, pulses, etc. Though this was meager, it helped a bit. Even our close relations also were in the same field and hence no body was in a position to help us financially. With this income my father had put me, my only younger brother and only younger sister in Matriculation school for which he had to pay monthly fees.

In the year 1993, for the first time my mother was bed ridden, that time I was studying in VIII Std., my brother was in VI Std. and my sister in the III Std. Her illness started in the form of Typhoid for which she was treated, but afterwards she started having multiple problems for which we had gone to a number of physicians which she was diagnosed with a Kidney problem. She even had

Dad is great
by director jalseva on Jun 16, 2007 05:21 PM  Permalink

My dad taught me some basic principle of life like 1)Do ur job(service) with upright head. Don't give up ur self-respect just for bread. Animals also get bread.2)Never cry for the enviroment of life. Either change the enviroment or change the life style. This was taught by behavior. He is now 83. He has never complaint about his life. He is with me since 18 yrs. My mother also expired before 3 yrs, but he has no complaint about life.

PAPA,

IT IS NEEDLESS TO SAY THAT HOW MUCH I LOVE YOU. YOU ARE THE ONE WHOM I ADMIRE. YOU ARE THE ONE WHO MAKE ME STRONG, SELF-DEPENDENT. YOU ALWAYS TREAT ME AS YOUR SON AND NOT AS A DAUGHTER.

I LEARNT THE TRUE MEANING OF FREEDOM FROM YOU - IT BRINGS CHOICES AND MANY RESPONSIBILITIES. I KNOW I HAVE BEEN NURTURES AND WHEN I TURN AROUND, I CAN FEEL YOUR SILENT PRESENCE WITH ME ALWAYS. THANKS FOR ALWAYS BEING THERE.

YOU ARE MY STRENGTH. I LOVE YOU PAPA.....
YOURS'
TANU

My love to my Dad
by Mukesh on Jun 16, 2007 11:35 AM  Permalink

My Dad is the most important person in my life. He taught me to be honest and nice to other people. And this particular day I just remember every thing he has done for his family. But for my Dad I would have been nothing. Now I am here thousands of kilometers away from him, just remembering him. Thanks Rediff for giving me a chance to express my feeling about my Dad.
