Quotas are a neccessity. Hence cannot be done away with. In order for Quota students to be on Par with Open category students the Marks cut off should remain the same. For eg the Engineering/Medical admission marks should be the same as that of Open category students. What this will help in doing is prove that students who come through quota category are no less brilliant than the students who are in open category.
i think reservations must be there for ever until the total eradication of the present caste system in India. i am asking the following questions :- whether anyone stopped before entering into the temples whether anyone sat at the out side of a Brahmin house whether anyone eat/drink in a seperate plate/glass in the houses of Brahmins/upper castes whether anyone's clothes are not likely to wash by a Dhobhi whether anyone declined to chair the higher posts ? whether anyone holds his footware in his hands while walking before the houses of upper castes whether anyone's houses are kept at the endside of village (rural areas) see the history of india(rural areas) all the above catogeries are in SC/ST families only. When all the upper castes are ready to answer/solve the above questions, there will be a definite answer for reservations. automatically all SC/ST's are ready to forgo the reservations. u r ready to answer/solver the above problems completely from India %u2026 then fight for anti %u2013 quota.

Reservation has nothing to do with caste eradication. It breeds inequality among people. Merit and Merit only should be considered. It is more than 50 years, abolish reservation.

whether anyone today sat outside of a politicalleader house or any SC/ST from upper strata marry one from lowwer strata. If everybody starts cleaning their own clothes then what will the present dhobi will do. presently all are using washing machines. There are SC/ST candidates who come up in their carrier and stay in Urban area. I am not against reservation but it should not be extended to those who are enjoying more facilities now, and it should not be forever. Why it is for above PL OBC. Is it not a vote bank politics. anti will be there for anything and everything in India. There is no end to anything.
Change the whole caste based system. Remove all caste related terminologies. Start considering the candidated in two classes - 'Merit and Assisted'. Give free primary education (including books and stationery) and free food to 'Assisted' class. Empower them through conselling, provide them free access to technology.
Election commission should introduce basic qualifications for candidates - atleast a graduate degree. I know this is not as easy as it sounds. No body with a criminal background should be allowed to stand for elections.
Well I may sound like Mungerilal :-), but dreams need not have limits, isn't it?
I just hate being ruled by such creepy politicians. Consider this my ego, I don't care.
RE:I think the answer is obvious - NO caste based reservation

Yes correct. Nice Innovative Solution.
Why any body should get reservation ? If at all anything is required for studies help them but in case of admission / jobs let the persons should come on merits. In any case if any personnel treatment is required will our Minister Arjun Singh will go to a doctor came out from reserved catagory. for treatment.
It is all bakwas. Our politicians know that their vote bank is from the illetriate class and to please them and keep their sear PUCCI they throw these type of gimics to fool them. Why cant we decide on following things:- No body less than 10 th class should be eligibal to vote . Minimum selection criteria for Standing in election should be GRADUATation. There should be nil criminal cases registered against them at the time of filing papers. They should be transparent in declaring their assets before filing with all the details/ sources. If any ambugity the things should be clarified first The cream of people after years of Hard work get selected in the civil services and these illetrate people treats them like dogs. These people should have no say in their offical matters. They should not be allowed to take any independent decision. All projects / matters should be decided by a committee. No one bothers for these basic reforms but only want reservations.

Hello, I agree to u wat u say as reservation shouldnt be there for any class/religion these terms SC/ST are used for their votes in India. SC/ST came into pic. b4 freedom of India to make literate to SC/ST so that they know wat education means? but presently these terms r nothing less than a vote bank 4 ministers.Hope people understands this and take in ve direction.
As well there shoukd be the crieteria for ministers to stand in election as u said they should have atleast graduation as well some social work done in their area with no criminal records
As well their asset has to be clear/declared in Incometax office from last 2 years b4 standing in election and when they finish their tenure of work.
This would help to make our country free from corruption and reservations free from castes.
Helping India to grow in Economy in more better way than 2day
Reservation as such is unacceptable because it violates our Fundamental Right of Equality of Opportunity. However, for the poor and deprived sections of our population, some reservation for a limited period is necessary to help them to achieve parity with the rest of the population. There are poor & deprived people among all castes, including the so-called forward castes. To restrict the benefit of reservation only to certain backward & scheduled castes, irrespective of their economic status, is patently wrong & unjust. However, it suits our government to follow a Divide & Rule policy to divide & engage the Indian people perpertually in caste-based squabbles and divert their attention from more important national issues such as eradicating corruption, education to all and the eradication of poverty.
i m not against reservations for the Backward people but the criteria that determines backwardness is somewhat obsolete.reservations should be based on economic status & not on the basis of caste creed, reliugion or sex.first of all the creamy layer shoul be differentiated. The govt should collect fresh data on the economic status of the BC's & then t should come out with a reservation ppolicy based on economic status.
There should no reservation based on cast and religion. Who said Brahamin is not poor. From recent clas between Gujjars and Meenas clearly revealed that though Meenas are rich and owning land they are enjoying reservation and Gujjars who are poor are facing tough competition in OBC. Also Gujjars in other states are in ST and in Rajesthan they are in OBC. So it is eveident that Arunj Singh has dirty min of playing politics and it was not a thoughtful consideration and merely for vote. We should Arjun Singh responsible like Saddam and Bush for IRAQ and he should be hanged till death
As per news SC (Superme court) is showing shame on this event of Gujjar, I think it is very shameful for Superme court to comeout after the event happened, where was SC when it was happening, busses was burning down,Gujjars were breaking vehicle & beating to people in Delhi. Now they are saying it is very shameful. Are they unable to control the situation, what does it mean "Delhi Bandh" why????????? Now SC is saying it is a national shame.
If we want to bring our country up through the Intelligent people, we will have to give up this stupid caste reservation, If we r in need of reservation then it should on the basis of financial position & intelligence level of the students, people seeking job etc. Otherwise the next turn will be of General Category to come out on the road to protect us from reservation.
Caste based reservation is a problem that is going to keep growing, as witnessed by the latest Gurjar uprising in Rajasthan. This had been originally conceived as an interim 10 year measure to promote upliftment of the backward castes but has been continually extended and expanded because of crass vote politics. Now that politicians can no longer afford to withdraw support to this it may perhaps be better to extend this to all minority castes or ethnic/religious groups whosoever may ask for it, with the provisos that persons applying under the reserved category would not be eligible for the the general unreserved category and that the total reservation should not exceed 50%. Reservation for each group would then be in proportion to its population within the total reserved category. The effect will ultimately, and hopefully, make the reservation unattractive enough to most of the candidates because of the reduced quotas for each sub-group. The best solution of course is to allow a 50% quota for the economically backward people irrespective of caste, creed, language or religion. The benefit of this would in in any case be felt mostly by the presently backward castes. It is unfortunate that this most logical solution is unnecessarily being resisted by most parties only because of petty vote politics.
