No reservation on caste basis
by jyoti on Jun 04, 2007 03:36 PM  Permalink

Today the benefit of reservation are derived by the people who dont deserve it.In goverment offices I have observed that the wards of SC/ST who cannot good marks in 10th or 12th, and make merry when other children burn midnight oil to get good marks, get admissions in good engineering /medical coleges. The SC/ST people of south India who boast off their influencial backgrounds reap the benefit of reservations, whereas there poor brothers remain poor, underfed and illerate. These poor people are used to show to the goverment statistics how poor Sc/ST are so as to continue to avail benefits of reservations. And these people will remain poor until concept of creamy layer is introduced strictly.Secondly one should stop reaping the benefit of reservation in promotions, this benefit has SC/ST employees lethargic and lazy becoz they know that they will get benefits of promotion even if they dont work. The children should get free education upto class irrespective of their caste. And children whose belong to family whose monthly income is below average should b given monetary assistance. The time has come that we should stop discussing caste, otherwise our country will have to face civil war very soon. The political parties should be banned to discuss casteism in election. If necessary reservation should b given on economical status only.People claim that dalits r raped and murdered, I want to ask r people of general catagory not murdered/raped.People cite examples where dalits r tortured

For or against sc/st reservation---ant & grasshopper second part
by Ashok Gaur on Jun 04, 2007 03:36 PM  Permalink

Left parties call for
"Bharat Bandh" in West Bengal and Kerala demanding a
Judicial Enquiry. CPM in Kerala immediately passes a
law preventing Ants from working hard in the heat so
as to bring about equality of poverty among ants and
grasshoppers.
Lalu Prasad allocates one free coach to Grasshoppers
on all Indian Railway trains, and names it as the
'Grasshopper Rath'.
Finally, the Judicial Committee drafts the Prevention
Of Terrorism
Against Grasshoppers Act [POTAGA]", with effect from
the beginning of the winter.
Arjun Singh makes Special Reservation for Grasshoppers
in educational insititutions & in Govt Services.
The ant is fined for failing to comply with POTAGA
and, having nothing left to pay his retroactive taxes,
his home is confiscated by the Government and handed
over to the grasshopper in a ceremony covered by NDTV.
Arundhati Roy calls it "a triumph of justice". Lalu
calls it 'Social Justice'.
CPM calls it the 'revolutionary resurgence of the
downtrodden'. UN secretary general invites the
grasshopper to address the UN General Assembly.
Many years later...the ant has since migrated to the
US and set up a multi-billion dollar company in
Silicon Valley. Hundreds of grasshoppers still die of
starvation despite reservation somewhere in India.
As a result of loosing a lot of hard working ants and
feeding the grasshoppers India is still a developing
Country.

Are you for or against SC/ ST reservations?
by on Jun 04, 2007 03:35 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

No it should be there, you know sitting in a metro city and that too in AC rooms, it is impossible to even think how the lower class people are suppressed. SC/ST people at some places are even not allowed to drink the water from common well. How long this will conitnue.

Reservation is one of the way to assist these poor people.

anybody becomes a lower caste or poor as per his wrong acts like gambling , looting , cheating ,harrasing & raping in his previous life. This acts makes a person to take a birth in lower cast & by this way he gets punished by God & suffer a measerable life. On the other hand a person who has done good acts of social welfare becomes a rich 7 super cast person & enjoys the respect & luxury.
However the cast is not permanent a chamar can become Brahmin in next life by doing great works. So Dear lower cast fellow do not lament, Do great works serve God & Brahmin giving up all your hatred towards them , you will certainly take birth in super caste.

for more details go to www.krishna.com download Shrimad Bhagawat online book Canto-5. And come to know how person takes birth in various caste & social status. How a meanest person becomes animal in next life

It is a shame and BJP is responsible for all this mayhem. They opened pandora's box by giving OBC status to Jats and promising ST status to Gujjars and came to power in Rajasthan. Now when there startegy has back-fired they don't know what to do? Congress ofcourse is looking at it as a oppurtunity to come back in Rajasthan.

IITS TIME TO AWAKE OTHERWISE THE FUTURE MAY BE LIKE THIS

Sun is rising as usual in the east. Im standing here
outside the school,waiting
for my 10 yr kid. He studies in
class 2. Only this year he could get admission into
the school. For the last5
yrs, admissions were closed for the general category
students.

School bell rings. I can see a lot of happy children
coming out of the gate, i waited for half an hour and
my kid came at last after
other children. Genaral students are not allowed to
cross the gate unless other
OBC/SC/ST students have crossed the gates.

OBC/SC/ST fathers drive away their children in classy
cars. But i hv to walk back
home with my kid a 5km stretch.
I lost my car some years back when Govt. came with a
rule that general people
have to deposit a tax equal to cost of their cars.
Failing which i had to sell the
car.
As far as buses are concerned, the seats in buses are
reserved for OBC/SC/ST. So
no place there also.

After walking some 5km in scorching heat i finally
reached home.It was wednesday
... shit , no electricity.Every mon,wed,thu,sat is
power cut in the houses of
General category population .So that SC/ST/OBC can be
uplifted by providing them
with every opportunity and in that consideration
electricity is an important factor.
Its 10:00 pm in night no electricity at home. Its very
hot inside the four walls
of home .So i dare to step out in park with my wife
and kid.I seated myself with
my family on a secluded bench in garden.
It was hardly 5 min ... a guard c

i wonder whether it's true that the Govt. told to pay a tax equal to the cost of your car. so far as i remember my newspaper reading around that time i did not come across such a thing!!! most important, did the govt. ask only the 'general' people to do so? please don't confuse people by giving wrong information. you are actually accusing the then Govt. of India. i wish the then finance minister file a complaint against such misquotes.
it is good to putforth anybody's arguments but it should be on a solid ground.

The message by anjana nandasana is tooooo creative to be believed. If he/she feels like an outcast with reservations, then imagine the plight of the so called untouchables who are still facing problems in the country. I dont think reservation by caste is needed in the country. Instead it may be based on the need.

its pity that people are bothered about 25% reservation
by R SANDESH on Jun 04, 2007 03:26 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

I am asking u people, go to any private or public offices first top 10 will be occupied by upper class(brahmins and other community people) and so called reservation people will be either peons, clerks or messengers or sweepers. It is because of their background and socio-economic problems. From past so many years so called upper class people are dominating , why because they are scholars from generations whereas so called reservation people hardly from two generations. This really makes lot of difference in intellectual abilities. Please give them some more time to get themselves equipped and come forward to fight against all odds of life.

Reservation Should & Should be Financial Base not the caste basis. A Son of IAS selected under reservation should not given reservation. Do u think u need reservation...........
i hope u will also take reservation depriving a poor in need of reservation for his future. Read News paper ,people went to Jantar mantar in all costly cars for REservation..........
It should be given to POORS ONLY.

ANT & GRASSHOPPER
OLD VERSION:
The ant works hard in the withering heat all summerlong building his house and laying up supplies for thewinter. The grasshopper thinks the ant's a fool and
laughs & dances & plays the summer away. Come winter,
the ant is warm and well fed. The grasshopper has no
food or shelter so he dies out in the cold.

MODERN VERSION:

The ant works hard in the withering heat all summer
long, building His house and laying up supplies for
the winter. The grasshopper thinks the ant's a fool
and laughs & dances & plays the summer away. Come
winter, the shivering grasshopper calls a press
conference and demands to know why the ant should be
allowed to be warm and well fed while others are cold
and starving.
NDTV, BBC, CNN show up to provide pictures of the
Shivering grasshopper next to a video of the ant in
his comfortable home with a table filled with food.
The world is stunned by the sharp contrast. How can
this be that this poor grasshopper is allowed to
suffer so?
Arundhati Roy stages a demonstration in front of the
Ant's' house.
Medha Patkar goes on a fast along with other
grasshoppers demanding that grasshoppers be relocated
to warmer climates during winter.
Amnesty International and UN secretary general
criticize the Indian Government for not upholding the
fundamental rights of the grasshopper. The Internet is
flooded with online petitions seeking support to the
grasshopper.
Opposition MPs stage a walkout

The basic assumption in ur modern version of story is that all SC/ST are like grasshopper and all upper caste people are like ant. This is the basic mindset which is stopping India to grow. All our people have to understand that all humans by birth are same and more ar less have the same potential to achieve success in various fields provided they get the right support and direction at the right time. Since most of the upper caste people are better off they are able to provide good upbringing to their children and that is why they get good marks and they excel in various field. It gives them the feeling that they are intelligent and are meritous and SC/ST are not. Is it really correct or just a illusion? All upper caste or most of the upper caste people are like ant is a myth which should be shattered.

Its not that simple as ant and grasshopper story. Here so called ant has all the resources avaialbe to work and save for bad days for itself and next ten generations. where as grasshopper is not allowed to work and earn sufficient because all the means of earning are owned and hijecked by ants. So God came to the rescue of grashopper and provided him with the opportunity to work and prove themselves. You will be surprised to know that we had lower caste president, primeminister, lots of ministers, scientists, doctors, engineers you just name and we have it. It is just begining the lower class will over come like the story of Rabit and Tortoise. where rabit thought that he can sleep but dont know that slow but steady tortoise is one with wome he is competing.

Reservations...........................will it ever end?
by Rajesh Kumar on Jun 04, 2007 03:24 PM  Permalink

The problem with we Indians are that we always look for the solutions which are easy irrespective of the consequences which can be caused by that solutions. The reservation monster which is now out of the bag and killing people around the country is glaring example of wrong decision. To me there is an urgent need to end all kind of reservations or preferential treatment to any individual in all the walks of life. We must treat all our citizen equally. Provide the facilities so that any one who wants to study or work the system helps him to do so. Ofcourse for the people who can not afford, the system must provide the financial help in terms of less or no fees, free meals and hostel facilities. The help should never be given in the form of money.

Think with mind and not with heart !!!
by parag solanki on Jun 04, 2007 03:22 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Historically a class of people (Lower Class) were discriminated and forced to do only things which are not found fit for doing by another class (Higher Class). For the independance of our country, these supressed class people sacrificed their lives in anticipation that the new free India will treat them as humans. To over come the inequality among citizens of India, reservation was devised on population percentage basis. All the citizen has right to participate and progress with the country was the dream of constitution framers. But only few who have money power, social standing (so called high class) and muscle power have dominated the resources available to the citizen. As per GITA "One has to be ready for the fruits of their Karma" and reservation is that fruit of the Karma of our forefathers. My opinion is that we have to learn to live with reservation, discrimination based on relegion, caste etc in this India. If we want to change the situation, let us start from ourself, give respect to deserving lowerclass people and admire their effort to be part of modern India and support the lower class people immotionally and financially and be ready to accept the job of sweeper, garbage collector etc. There should not be any hulla gulla in media if any high caste boy/girl marries to lower class of their own choice. If we can do this we have point to discuss reservation issue otherwise not

Dear Navin, Thans for your reply. I m not historian. I m a scientist who has contributed to the India's first Light Combat Aircraft. My point is well answered by you as coz of reservation there is no need for another ambedkar. That is what researvation has achieved. No need for mass relegion change (there can be stray incidents). That is what reservation has given. I hope, please wait for some more years and all reserved categories will compete amongts themselves in such a way that reservation will become nullified. I assured cooperation of intellectuals like you.

Thanks for reply once again

Dear Navin,

Ambedkar was a god gifted talent and a prodigy. And you will be astonished to know that his first break to study abroad was achieved because of reservation only( a sort of). The Maharaja of Baroda had promised sponsoring a talented student from depressed class for studying abroad. Ambedkar was lucky to avail this facility and this became his starting point of his development. Thereafter Ambedkar fought for the upliftment of the depressed class and brought reservations in the constitution. He knew it is the best practical solution in the given circumstances.
